re: Michelin XM2 Tyres in India

Moved from Continental CPC2 195/60 to Michelin XM2 185/65 in May 2012; done about 11000+ kms in the past year on the XM2.

I feel there is some amount of tyre noise, has a good road grip, brakeing is nice, had no issues but for some reason I was more confident on the Continentals - my personal views here as I was on Continenal for 4 years. No wear in tear in the past 1+ year tyres seem to be as good as new.

I don't want to increase width of the tires. C Drives doesn't have 70 or 80 profile with 175 for 13". It has only 60 which make the wheel arch space even more and doesn't look good to me. I am preferring 70 or above to reduce the gap and give the wheels a meatier look.

You want a downsize then.
Put in your current tyre size in here and look at the options with higher profile. Also note the supported rim sizes.

Not downsizing certainly.
I want to keep the 175 and 13 constant. Its only 70 profile that I want to increase to 80 (that too if it's technically right to do so and yoko A drive or michelin xm2 offers).

My query of which tires to go for still remains!?!
so should I go for yokohama A drive - AA01 or Michelin XM2?

Both are good. But have also heard no so great reviews about XM2 considering its price. A Drives are a better choice i feel since it offers everything XM2 offers at a lesser price point

re: Michelin XM2 Tyres in India

Replaced stock Goodyear GT3s with XM2s, 175/65/R14 82H, 1813 lot, for my Vista from Tyre Care, Coimbatore for Rs. 4700/tyre. Total Rs. 18800/- with free alignment, balancing, weights, valves and nitrogen. Most of the dealers quoted Rs. 5025/tyre and Tyre Care came down from an initial quote of Rs. 4900/- Thanks to Nikhilb2008 for suggesting XM2s.

My impression after 250 kms are,
a) Ride and handling have improved remarkably.
b) Slightly noisy on rough tarmac but silent on good roads.

Go for the A Drives. They are pretty good and cost quite a bit lesser than xm2s.

Thanks fellas.
Even I was inclined towards A drives for their better VFM.

One more query...
I am retaining my stock rims with new tubeless tires (putting tubeless on rims for first time), can I also fill nitrogen in them?

Yes please, go ahead. Nitrogen will make the ride more comfy.

re: Michelin XM2 Tyres in India

Got 195/60 R15 XM2 for our Swift. It is a new size for XM2 and got 3 grooves instead of the 2 for the 185s and lower.

The big positive is the great ride and lower noise. I hear more wind noise now.

How much did you pay for them? Yesterday got them fitted in my friends punto for 5750 per tyre in Bangalore.
