Is there a way to correct this or do we have to just learn to live with it?

Hey bro'
I've seen the speed difference of around 5kmph between the satellite based tracking system in my android and the actual odo reading. Initially I thought that it must be the odo error. But I observed the same difference in all my cars.
Conclusion: The android may not be that accurate.

p.s. : OMG, your wheels upgrade = same size as stock octys.

@deetjohn: thanks a lot for the explanation.

hehe.. don't ask me; they copied :p

Went to Asian Motors (Mitsubishi ASC) today and saw this Yellow Cedia.. The alloys were 17" crave alloys (II Crave Alloys) with 215/45/17 A-Drive R1 Tires.

The satellite input based GPS in androids/smart phones/navigation systems etc. etc. is far more reliable than the speedo/odo meter in any of the vehicles.

Don't know about the mojo but any dimensional change in the rolling circumference of the tires will lead to an error in the odometer and speedo meter readings.

Calculate the error using the tire size tool herein

Had some time to kill this morning so thought of washing the alloys. Phew, was it tiring or what! The results were however worth the effort! Once the tires were dry, I used the Formula1 tire polish.

Looking awesome, Hawk! Now just don't drive for a while :D

Not the stock Apollos, they are stock size 235/70 R16 Michelin LTXs. Looking wider because of the wider rim, 7 instead of the stock 6.5.

Your photos made me consider the Grande as a purchase choice! Thanks.

It's a secret formula, also known as Pantene anti-dandruff shampoo (and bit of bath foam) :D
