13 inch tyres for alto

Hiya,

I was planning to put alloys on my car for a long time, Finaly got it, I checked some cars with alloys on stock wheels, Didnt like the look of it, So bought 13 inch aura alloys, Time for me to put tyres now, I was thinking of g3 potenza 165/60/13, Is that the best one? Do i need to put spacers?? help required

No, dont go for 165/60/R13. It will slow the 47bhp car down and might also scrape the wheelwells. Stick with 155/70/R13. It would be perfect.

Thanks for the advise nitrous, There is one thing that I am confused about, If I decrease the tyre profile, Does that mean that the size of the sidewall will also decrease??,

Stick with 155/70/R13. It would be perfect

Will I get g3's? Or which company do you recommend??

I stongly recommend the Bridgestone Potenza GIII's 165/60 R13,
I used 165/60 R12 Bridgestone Potenza GIII's on Aura 12" wheels on my car for a year, superb grip.......no scrubbing,
Now upgrading to League J007 13" wheels with 165/60 R13 GIII's, the wheels aren't in yet but the overall diameter looks good with the profile i have selected.

No u wont get GIIIs in this size....Michelin and Hankook have it ..or B350...
The GIIIs start from 165/60-13....

Keep in mind when u upsize from 145/80- 12 to 13" .... your ride quality will be poor in cities bad roads.... dont expect the superb ride quality of 145/80-12...

The wheels are off the car right now because she's headed for the workshop, so i've put the 12" stock rims on. Don't want any paint getting on the alloys!!!

Hey Edmund....
U are right....Sorry i quoted in a different sense....I meant that GIIIs start from 165 size for both 12 & 13"(correct me if i'm wrong) as knightrider was given a suggestion of getting 155/70 rubber by nitrous...

I'd recommend Michelin Certis - excellent tyres - lasted 60K Kms on my esteem so far and decent grip .

do u use the alto ....??????if you dont please dont give wrong advises.. 155/70r13 is not at the right upsize ...the OD is wrong ...145/70r13,155/65r13 and 165/60r13 are the ones that can be fitted as upsizes ...

and yeah the G3 does come in 165/60r12 ..but the M800 comes with 145/70r12...so the 165/60r12 can be th eupsize ...but the alto comes with 145/80r12...so this cannot be used as the correct upsize in an alto

and no dont use spacers ..and be sure to stick to rims under 5j ...the g3's should cost about rs 2600-2900/tire
