Re: Reflections on Wildlife Addictions "Pench and Kanha National Park"

So we started our new year with making a trip to Pench and Kanha National park.
On the 28th of January we started at about 10 am from Nagpur to Pench. Reached there well in time for a typical MP tourism lunch. This time we got rooms facing the nala on the ground floor which has no view .
The swimming pool is functioning, but the trouble being that the bottom of the pool is not visible.
We had well in advance booked for our safaris from the MP tourism office in Nagpur.
Our first evening safari begins.

Pench is a beautiful forest with mostly teak trees, due to unseasonal rains the trees were turning a brilliant green with the sun filtreing thru the leaves and making them a brilliant gold , while the ground remained in varied hues of browns of the fallen leaves. The paths were ever inviting as always.
This park never lets us down on natures various magical moments.

We slowly drove thru the jungle to see it coming alive .

Re: Reflections on Wildlife Addictions "Pench and Kanha National Park"

@gd,
Thank you so much, I get to visit these jungles only about once a year. In the mean time your frequent visits to the jungles and an update of your logs keeps us wildlife enthusiasts close to the wilderness right thru the year.

@ DKG
Thank you, U should visit the Mp jungles too.

@Fauji,
Thank you, Lots more to come
Regards

@Coolcat21 - I took some time out today and went through the complete TL. Loved each piece of it, it was like being in an adventure. Nice clicks and sequencing. Good work, continue posting.

My mind is now badly wanting to see some live stripes

Yes it's long overdue! This year may do Kaziranga, if that doesn't happen then a trip to MP forests would be lovely

Some of the bird shots are beautiful, what colour !!

@C300 The section of forest between Kadam and Mancherial is spectacular teak. The girth of some of the trees here had me spellbound

Re: Reflections on Wildlife Addictions "Pench and Kanha National Park"

We suddenly spotted 2 very alert jackals and soon understood the reason. Dinner had kind of fallen into thier arms.

Re: Reflections on Wildlife Addictions "Pench and Kanha National Park"

Wow.amazing pics and i did not want to read this last post alone but wanted to read from the first post just to enjoy your writing skills and the pics. I like the Brahminy ducks pic (looks cute) to say the least. Well framed and nicely presented.

Continue the good work till we get a chance to carry on the legacy.
Thanks,

Re: Reflections on Wildlife Addictions "Pench and Kanha National Park"

Coolcat,

And, the prize goes to...the latest pic. of the jackal pair with the langur friend and the very well composed panorama. Love the direct stare into the lens of the male jackal in that picture and the way the bridge has been placed in the panorama.

The textures of the tree barks ,,well captured, the meandering ways are so reminiscent of Pench.

Coolcat, end of last to this year you have not really started your 'Jungle Ghoomings' no?

Hope to see a lot from your lens and pen.
Regards,

Re: Reflections on Wildlife Addictions "Pench and Kanha National Park"

We woke up early as always to a loud knock and opened our door to be greeted with a flask of steaming masala chai. Soon we were out to join the long row of gypsys ,everyone with hopes in thier heart to see the tiger atleast in this safari. Well we were no different.

But my son was looking for his tooth fairy as he lost his first tooth here.
