Re: Mallus Bachelor Wild Kerala Wayanad Trip Final plan was:
3 Teams:
- FIRST Local team from Wayanad – 4 members (with their best off-roading vehicles)
- SECOND Team from Eranakulam/Trichur – 2 members (with their PAJERO - another offroader)
- THIRD Team from Bangalore – 2 members – 2 BHPians (with their NHC Honda City ZX - best roader, no off meant)
We were all classmates during our PG and some us haven’t met for a long 13 years (WOW)
Venue:
- RAIN COUNTRY RESORTS – Wayanad (Excellent Feedback - *****)
Plan:
SECOND and THIRD teams Start on 29th Jan early morning from their places, plan to reach wayanad by noon (some 270 kms approximately drive for 5 hours approx). Some relaxed driving and reach Wayanad by Lunch time, Have lunch at Wayanad (some kerala style yummy NON-VEG meal) along with Check-in to resort. And HAVE A BLAST.
Second day – relax, take things lightly, breakfast, lunch and return to our places – reaching homes by 30th January Sunday night.
HEY! BTW – HAVE WE MISSED THE WEDDING @ PLANNING ITSELF? YES (was it deliberate?)
All planning was real perfect and excellent – things went as we wanted it to be, the trip, travel, journey, resort, accommodation, food, some Off-roading, get-together and party was EXCELLENT and will be cherished for a long time.
Some introduction:
Route – ONWARD: HAL Airport Road E-city NICE Road Mysore Road Mysore Silk Factory HD Kote Road Hand Post Bavali Mananthawadi Kalpetta Rain Country Resorts @ Near Wayanad District Border
- Timing: start by 6 AM and reach destination by 12 PM (including tea, breakfast, wildlife sightseeing breaks)
- Road Condition: Some ‘very bad roads’ (muddy road with metal stones – no tarmac) at starting point inside the national park entry, also before making entry we need to take diversion on a village road for about 8-10 km near Bavali. The village road is ‘NOT GOOD’ but manageable. Rest of the road is good and nice (before and after these bad roads). More possibility of sighting wild life on this route. We saw 2 separate elephant herds (one was a lone tusker – many say they are aggressive and dangerous), and 1 deer (on the road itself).
Route – RETURN: Rain Country Resorts @ Near Wayanad District Border Kalpetta Sultan Battery Muthanga Through National Park Gundalpetttu Nanjangaudu Mysore NICE Road E-city HAL Airport Road
- Timing: start by 2 PM and reach destination by 8 PM (including gas filling, cool drinks, lunch, and tea breaks)
- Road Condition: Some rough patches and potholes in the road inside national park – rest of the roads good. The patch between Nanjangaudu and Mysore has been patched up nicely. Rest of the road is nice. Less possibility of sighting wildlife due to increased traffic compared to earlier timings. Still if you are lucky – can spot elephants at least.
Now let the pics speak for themselves! Sorry for some shaky pics – they were taken while on the move – apologies. Feedbacks welcome!
