Hawk-0n-Fours® (H-4®) Roadtrip: H-4® & QuickSilver Go Snow-Hunting

It snowed on Wednesday night. The information came through on Thursday. And on Friday evening, after a full day of work, BHP-ian rideon and his family, with his steed QuickSilver, and my family with me at the wheel of H-4®, set off on an overnight drive to go snow-hunting.

So, did we find snow? You decide...

This thread was starting to stagnate. Let's see what we can deliver next week.

So you guys hit the road to Himachal Friday night and must be criss crossing snow lines. Or are the snow hunters going somewhere further North, Kashmir?
And, the pictures are inviting even if the road a little scary.

This is the first time H-4® had company (even, as a matter of fact, I did, in all these years of driving), and this resulted in more photo-stops than my usual.

Somewhere in HP, around 3 AM

The hills look quiet awake with all those lights in the background. And did you enjoy your first convoy ride or solo was more comforting.

At 5:15 AM this morning (as per EXIF records), we spotted our first snow on the road. It is a pain to upload photos from a GPRS connection, but here's the pic of the first sighting.

Not a soul on the roads till 6:30 AM.

Solo is what I do, and convoys have their advantages and disadvantages. Topic for another thread maybe?

Awesome and would love to be there. The first two pics are the best and it looks like you guys were driving through a perfect storm

A Safari and a Scorpio. The perfect recipe for an adventure

The met department did predict rain & thundershowers, but we got clear weather. Here's a pic of the morning sunlight setting the snow on the mountainside on fire!

Yes, we did!

As to spilling the beans, well, I guess I'll make you all wait and guess a while more for the exact locations . It snowed heavily last night there too...

The gentleman with the Bullet was riding with another Pulsar and another Bullet., The Pulsar developed an oil leak at Kalka, and they finally made it there at 9 pm on Saturday. Though we were in touch on the phone, we did not meet up unfortunately.

There is a bit of hint in this second paragraph here that helps one narrow down the choices - I think I have guessed the hotel and the place. Let me see if I am correct.
