Nice video, very enjoyable!
Road is looking really good, I guess this is the stretch between Pandora & Narayan Sarovar?
Road was quite bumpy when I went on it 2 times before.

Re: Run To Raan Of Katch

@ HVK: That's right. As we take a RT from the junction, exactly 7.5 kms from Dayapar, (straight goes to Lakhpat); this section comes in the first 15-20 KMS, lots of ups and downs, lovely drive. Roads are mostely smooth.

Here's another clip from Koteswar, from behind the temple.

Trip log getting completed, will upload it at the end of the T-Log.

Re: Run To Raan Of Katch

Sir,

Excellent travelogue & complimented with nice pics. Never knew there were so many places to see in that region.

I've been planning to visit Kutch since last 6 months but work is not allowing me to break free.

Good to see 1850 after a while, it just keeps munching down miles and miles of all types of terrain. How much has it done now ?

Nice video, name of the song ?

Amit: Happy that you enjoyed it and thanks.

@Akush: Thanks for enjoying the thread.
Only another driver can understand the sheer pleasure of a drive like that. You said it right, no traffic, good roads, good music, the hum of the engine.... well, can you ask for more?

Re: Run To Raan Of Katch

Super t-log.. brought back memories from my childhood spent in Gandhidham.

Some trivia:

- Mata no Madh is supposed to be the family deity of the maharajas of Mandvi.

- Anjar en-route to Bhuj is known for the tombs of jesal-toral. folklore says that the tombs move about a rice grain's length a year..

- Bhadreshwar ( towards mundra ) is another notable spot to visit for its Jain temple.

- You can see the twinkling lights of karachi from the Narayan sarovar temple at night.

- AMW Trucks apparently have a manufacturing location near Bhuj.

- Wankaner is known for a good vintage automobile collection.

Re: Run To Raan Of Katch / Logs

Attaching the Logs of the trip.

@ Srini, Thanks for that insight and your comments. We have realized that a full week is needed to savour what Katch has to offer.

Re: Run To Raan Of Katch - Raid de Wallet.

Awsome trip, log and details Ramky boss.

Is there any options to hide this particular post from my view. I do not want any ladies at my home to see this.

Please spare my heart and don't ask me the price...... not again, the ladies would be able to guess. Believe me, these pieces would be much more expensive once they crosses Katch border.

Any more details of how to see the car collection? Is it a private collection?

Thanks again RKB.

You'd have to collaborate with the mods for that Other option would be to carry cash (lots of them) or give the lady of the house a credit card (unlimited edition) while in Bhuj.

Re: Run To Raan Of Katch

Wow! Loved the Tlog .. I've kinda made up my mind to do a long road trip at least once a year. I did a Blr-Panhala-Ratnagiri-Harihareshwar-Pune-Blr towards end of last yr (rather last month
With so many T-logs abt L/GRK, I'm really tempted to attempt it this year. Btw, while talking about this with someone else earlier today, I got to know of a strange phenomenon called Chir Batti specific to the Rann. I google'd it and did find it rather strange - did u or anyone else happen to come across it/heard about it during your travel?

Re: Run To Raan Of Katch

I've heard about them too, my birdy friend spent years in the desert; one explanation is that of gases from marsh getting released and getting ignited by static electricity, highly plausable. Something akin to phosphoras in the dead body getting ignited under certain circumstances in Cemeteries and people screaming "ghost"
