Sunset and nightfall

More of the sunset

Sierra National Forest - A lake photolog-1123740372_4qtroxl.jpg

And finally the stars started to appear

And one with moon in the frame

Bright moonlight kind of kills the starts. So I guess you have to make do with twinkling snow!

The latest series of pics is simply awesome. The varying hues of the sky look great and the snow pics just made me realize that Xmas is almost here! Keep 'em coming mate.

Re: Sierra National Forest - A lake photolog

The long exposure shots are pretty good. Something I am really keen on taking some. Anyways nice trip snaps. The sunset is really worth it.

What is that bright pink object in the starry night in your 4th snap of this page ?

Re: Sierra National Forest - A lake photolog

Its a lens flare due to the moon at an odd angle. Inspite of the lens hood, I could not avoid the flare.

Hi tsk1979,

Your Travelogues are my one of the most favorite part on Team BHP, very well written and very nice images. I was passive follower of your threads from last 6 months and now time to appreciate your work.

Also I like you safari a lot, white horse.

Thanks,
Vishal.

Super Snaps as usual TSK. The last sunset snap on the 1st page where one can see the ripples on the water in the foreground I liked the most.

Awesome pictures Tanveer. This photolog is like I have come to a art exhibition. Do share more pictures if you have.

Re: Sierra National Forest - A lake photolog

tanveer awesome pictures man. I have a question, how long does the battery last when you try and capture a star trail ? Also what exposure times do these images have. I once tried by putting my camera into the BULB mode, got a few and wasn't the best of shots.

Thanks guys!
I have put most of the pics here. This was a short day trip. Not much shooting, mostly getting wet in the snow and freezing

I guess you can do a total of 2 hour of exposures in bulb mode with a fresh battery.
Most of these are around 500 seconds
