Bad to hear of the bad experience with the cops.

Was the Aurangabad-Ajanta road?

@hvkumar: This was on the Aurangabad to Pune route. The First toll-booth that you get one the way from Aurangabad to Pune.

Re: Bangalore-Pench-Nagpur-Shirdi-Goa-Bangalore

Hmmm I never got to update some more info I had about this trip... here are few items I took for emergency perspective:

Rope for towing
Bangalore-Pench-Nagpur-Shirdi-Goa-Bangalore-img00001201102031113.jpg

Jumper cable - home/hand made! As my car is an Automatic, can't push and start the car, this would have come handy if battery gave way. Ofcourse we would need another battery of a vehicle

Tuble less tyre puncher kit

spare Key, infact I had this on my person on the cross belt (Janeu)

Holy Thread, instead of "cross belt", would have been more appropriate. No?

Hi Ajit,

This is a good long. It's sad to see that you got tangled in a few issues, but they were minor, and you handled them well. It's great to see you carry some essential equipment/tools like jump-leads, and ropes.

In the previous page, I'd noticed the bottles kept underneath the seat. I do not advise this practice at all. It's highly dangerous, whatever the circumstance. It is possible that the bottles might roll into the driver's foot-well and get lodged underneath the pedals.

@suhaas307: I totally agree with you, that the bottles or anything that can roll or move under drivers seat can be dangerous.

I usually keep only spare news paper and cloth, and in this case as you can see the bottles are under the passenger seat.

And your signature, I exactly know what you mean

I am really glad to know that! The sticker finally did pay off.

Well the wedding was at Central Point. Where we stayed is a totally different story

Re: Bangalore-Pench-Nagpur-Shirdi-Goa-Bangalore

I actually liked very much this hand-made jumper cable. What I've in my truck is the standard version whose cable length is short.

What I want to know is the specs of the cable that you used. Secondly, won't the length increase the resistance and reduce the ampere or the current strength?

This is domestic wiring cable rated for 660/1100 volt typically used in the 15 amps circuit and both are about 15 feet long.

I have not put it through the multimeter, will get it tested and update.

Bangalore to MP National Parks

We are planning a 2 week driving holiday to Pench, Bandhavgarh, Kanha & Tadoba in December end. Safari booking & MPTDC hotel availability looks great at this moment based on online info.

Looking for information on :
a. if all these NPs are functioning as normal?
b. Recommended safari zones to book
c. All stays are being planned at state tourism properties - Kipling's court, MPT White Tiger, MPT Bagheera Jungle resort & MTDC Moharli. Any alternate suggestions in similar budget?
d. Updates on road condition - Our non-stop legs will be Blore - Pench and Tadoba - Bangalore. Rest are leisurely drives. Tadoba to Hyd - Chose the route via Mancheriyal as I have done it many times before and wanted to do again than a regular highway run

Our high level route is as below :

a. To the best of my knowledge (based on updates from local drivers/guides) all these NPs are functioning normally with COVID measures in place. There are a few restrictions though (eg children below age of 10 and adults over the age of 60 are not allowed for safaris in Tadoba, Only 4 guests per safari vehicle against the previous norm of 6 per vehicle. I am not aware of such restrictions in Bandhavgarh/Kanha/Pench).

b. Tadoba - Tadoba has had a rocking start to the season. Almost all the star female cats have had litters and are regularly sighted. Buffer zones (Agarzari/Dewada) have equally good sightings (if not better) of Tigresses with their cubs. Bandhavgarh has not been as good. People usually prefer Magadhi and Tala zones considering the landscape and chances of sightings.
Pench and Kanha have been having excellent sightings across zones.

c. Tadoba - MTDC is the best for the budget if staying on the Mohurli side. Very close to the gate and is in the buffer area
Bandhavgarh - Tigergarh is an excellent option and is around 15 mins from Tala gate.

Thanks Ramnath. I just finished booking the safaris at Pench (Touria), Bandhavgarh (Tala & Magadhi) and Kanha (Kanha & Mukki).

One strange issue I am facing is that while booking for TATR, the website doesnt show Tadoba as an option. Am I missing something obvious?
