I'm going to echo vnabhi's question too - but also going to ask - on this route, did you find the kind of dhaba we ate at in Benaras? Because I found one in Delhi recently!!! |
I myself donot consider the captions any special. I am very pressed for time, hence somehow packed it and uploaded.
yes you are sounding like me with those captions
No I did not find that kind of Dhaba.

So you took the Tufanganj border route to Guwahati? Haven't travelled on that stretch as yet.
How is it compared to the northern stretch that goes via Srirampur, Bongaigaon and Barpeta? |
Thanks. This was my first ever trip to Assam.

Please share details of how your Figo fared and behaved on the roadtrip. What was your FE/km.? |
Due to horrible roads, lot of idling and 20-30 kmph crawls for 1/3 of journey, I got 14.34 kmpl. If I start writing anything more about how good a Figo is, it will amount to unecessary advertisement. Every vehicle has its merit.

The roads were very unkind to the vehicle. That is my 4th mobile holder in 6 months. Very difficult to get ones which are good enough.

P.S: Will we see Anjaana Anjaani Part - 2 as well |
Thanks. Very Very bad roads and 20kmph speeds at many stretches of the journey, so fuel costed INR 3374 for 86.38 litres = 14.34 kmpl
Hotel 'Central Plaza' Costed INR 1700 for a suite (no alternatives)
Ms. Anaida is ready again after pujas for travelling. Then it will be called 'Jaani-Anjaani'

What is your assessment of the completion of the road widening of NH31 - the so-called East West Corridor?
From what I heard from you, looks like the Assam roads nowadays have traffic even in the nights, contrasting with the total no-movement situation a few years ago. |
Cops stopped us at Siliguri as they saw dirty vehicle and that I had crossed the stopline by mistake. I had to talk my way through and it got resolved.
Yes NH31 looks like NH5 at Balasore, BBSR rather worse. And private vehicles were plying with families. I feel such activity is a sign of safe roads.
The Border at Tufanganj was jammed up, so had to take a shortcut loop through village roads. Had I got the Innova, I would not have been able to do it as roads were very narrow. During the detour, we were stopped by Bikers and were released on explanation.
