London after seeing Paris - 2 great cities of the world! - Wow!!

After traveling in Eurail, Britrail was not fun! We were a group of spoilt kids!

Both the resorts we stayed (Devon court & Hever Club) were single bedroom apartments - similar to Alpine centre, provided by RGBC.

Some Pics taken at Hyde's park - London. I do not have access to broad band. I will be able to up load a lot of pics once I get back to Bangalore - Weekend for sure!

Aah, now keep them flowing. This is the teaser for now I guess. Did you have a chance to go to Wembley? Heard that's the place where most Indian restaurants are located.

Oh, so the pics have to wait for some more time.
The pics are good teasers.
I have just seen squirrels so friendly only in pics and movies. Wish I could feed a squirrel!

No. But we visited couple of Indian restaurants. Very expensive. best avoided - we eat the same every day - right?

You should have gone to wembley or east ham then. Unlimited food at chennai dosa for 5 gbp. Unlimited breakfast for 3.5 where in one gets dosas, idlys, pooris, pongal etc etc unlimited. If you go to zone 1 and 2 paki restaurants that operates as Indian, be ready to shell out 30 - 100 gbp per meal.

But I'm surprised that you consider london as a great city after Paris!
2 weeks in UK? roll out the photos.

Next time! Will remember!!

You are right - After visiting Paris, no other city looks great! But common language, sort of OK food, a bit of dirt here and there - made us feel homely!

We had to stay in London for a day in between since we had to vacate Devon court on 3rd and check-in at Hever on 4th. We stayed in Gower hotel near Hyde Park. Accomodation was booked through Net for around 100 Pounds. Lousy accomodation. Best avoided.

You made a double post yesterday didn't you? Any pics on Thames? Would like to see how much polluted it is. But is that all the pics on England? Somehow it isn't much appealing to me like Germany or Paris, don't know why.

And, what are those function in P5040807_1536x1152.jpg & P5040808_1536x1152.jpg or is that a regular activity? What's that?

Personally I like, UK very much - both from history and natural beauty. Scotland, Lake District are some of the areas of abundant natural beauty.

The ceremony in Buckingham palace is called 'Change of Guards'.

@aargee. The change of guards happen daily on summer months and then on alternate days during other months.

Here's some facts about Greenwich. We all know GMT. Greenwich mean time. We also know that 0deg longitude is there - which we call prime meridian.
If you go in the evenings, they put a laser beam green in colour from the observatory in to london city that co-incides with the prime meridian. Initially the prime meridian was in Paris. Later they shifted the 0deg to greenwich. Also please note that w is silent.
There's an octagonal room there which has so much of history associated with it. So much of stargazing has gone on from there.
I'm just adding a photo here to show the beauty of this place. Not to hijack your thread.

Me and my wife in greenwich. See East London behind. To the right is O2. To the left is sky line of East London with canary wharf and the tallest building Canada square. The green line you see is the laser that goes along Prime meridian.
Europe on a Budget - 5 weeks trip with family on a backpack!-0-deg-longitude-greenwich.jpg

I also see photos of Piccadilly circus and Trafalgar square. The line is of T-Square (not the drawing equipment ). On a pillar perches the statue of Admiral Nelson.
Trafalgar square houses art galleries which house some of the finest replicas of some great paintings. But then those are nothing compared to Louvre musem.
