Quite possible; all I know is he made the sail for Queen of Spain with prisoners, he could've been an Italian though.

Next attraction - Incline Railway
Some info about incline railway. Construction started in 1930 and finished in 1931. Length 1550 ft. 100% grade 45% angle. Powered by Otis elevator.

This incline railway takes visitor to the bed of the canyon.

The blue thing appearing in the picture is the incline train where passengers will be in standing position. It can max accommodate 30-40 at a time.

The tracks appearing here are different. I am not sure what is the purpose of that.

I couldn't get much on this "inclined rail" & people standing inside it. Does it adjust itself to straight & inclined according to the track, elevation & plain it travels upon?

No, actually the train never travels parallel to ground. It will be always inclined like its appearing in the pictures.

The other track which is appearing at the bed of canyon, along the river-side is something different. Its nothing to do with incline railway.

Day 3:

Second day night halt was at Canon City. On third day morning we headed further south of Colarado to Alamosa city which is the nearest community for Great Sand Dunes National Park.

Great Sand Dunes, as the name says..its huge sand dunes formed near Alamosa and its being maintained by National Parks Service (NPS) which is a federal government agency. Since it will be too hot to visit sand dunes during mid-day, we decided to check-in into hotel first, take some rest and visit dunes late evening around 6pm.

Some random snaps on the way from Canon city to Alamosa:

Great pics.

The incline train looks exciting. Thanks for clarifying that the horizontal line is separate one. I had the similar doubt.

In the sand dune area exhibit, do I see dinosaur skeletons? The dunes are very scenic. Can you move around in the area in 4x4s? Is it permitted?

Is does not appear to me a big fire, may be some one is having a campfire!

Fantastic pictures.

The Incline train is truly amazing.

Is the track in one of the pics an amtrak route?
