What can I say, lost interest in all writings and forums, even my own site writings, though travel intermittently continued, but starting from today and finishing off in 6 days flat, by end of this week.

Now that would be a real tragedy..that is,if u stopped writing ADC!

I first chanced upon your Self Drive Leh expedition thread and read every page with awe and amazement! That is where i found refrences to this thread also.

Each picture was savored and each post read in both the threads. I salute you for your spirit of adventure and your bravery. You are also blessed to have a wife who shares these qualities with you. Junior ADC is indeed a lucky chap. Most of us only carry on planning these adventures and then put them somewhere in the deep recesses of our minds as everyday life engulfs our souls.

Reading your thread has sparked of that wanderlust in me once again and has reminded me also of the reason for buying the 4x4's in the first place.

I have spent most of this day reading this entire thread and as shall go back to page 1 post 1 and read through it all over again at a slower pace like i did with the Leh Self Drive Expedition thread as well.

I am happy in the knowledge ofcourse that there are a couple more of your travel threads that I have yet to read. I am sure i shall enjoy them immensely. Please keep us posted on any trips planned this year. When ever you are in Delhi next do please let me know so we can meet..and maybe i can even follow you and share the adventure.

Another thing your threads have done is repose quite some degree of faith in the Tata Safari for me. So last but not the least I salute the fourth member of your family..well done WB-20H-3XX5!

Anirban,

What a journey! Hats off to your and your family's adventurous spirit. Rating the thread 5 stars.

I have done North Sikkim (beyond Gurudongmar), staying with the army chaps. Arunachal drive is on the to do list. Unfortunately Bangalore to Bomdila is not a short drive - will need to take 2-3 weeks leave to enjoy properly.

What plans for the pujos?

What can I say, we just come back from the Valley of Flowers, Uttaranchal travel, and come across such words. Thanks so much.

As one of old travelogues come up to first page, I also go across some of the pages - refreshes memories of the beautiful land and people.

As for Delhi, for the Himachal and Ladakh journeys, we enter Delhi early morning after a 22-23 hour journey from Calcutta, sleep all day long, and leave Delhi in the night for a drive till Manali. The main problem is the days are never fixed due to my work and generally we have just a day of getting all luggage packed before the journey.

We are planning something to that side in the last month of September or 1st week of October, will let you know more through PM.

As for Tata Safari VTT-TMT, what can we say - it roamed with us till the last mile, saved us at least a couple of times from disaster, went places where no one gave it a chance, and as it goes ends its extended warranty in October, would like to give it a great journey as it ends 4 years of intense travel with us. Journeys will be a little less on the Safari from the 5th year as we take up trekking, but then who knows!

Thanks to you too, as said seeing these messages again gives that joy of writing much more.

Just back from Valley of Flowers - Puja holidays surely some travel, - trying Zanskar but if conditions are okay will try the Stok Kangri summit trek first. Nothing decided but definitely not in Kolkata in October.

Whats yours?
