Hriday,
Your 450 D can do wonders with your 55-250 lens, since it is not a full frame camera the max focal length of your zoom (250mm) will have more reach than 250mm...it should be around 400mm with the 1.6 crop factor.

Whatever your equipment is, the photograph is first shot in your mind, the action, composition etc. but long reach lenses are a vital component in wildlife photography.

Dear All,

It is unfortunate, today's news...Tadoba is on fire.
Watch News 9 or other channels for details.

Re: Tadoba, Pench forests, wildlife and 4 tigers!

This indeed is a very very bad news. Some fool must've thrown a burning beedi/cigarrette inside the forest.

GD Sahab,

Last week it was at the Farahabad area in NSTR (Srisailam), I was there the next day and 3 fire engines were sent in after a lot of damage already was done.

In both cases, It could also possibly be the controlled fire going out of control as the whole forest is drier than straw, waiting for disaster to happen.
No one will own up if so.

Re: Tadoba, Pench forests, wildlife and 4 tigers!

The forest fire was in the Kolsa range and the good news is that it did not do extensive damage, now under control.

Re: Tadoba, Pench forests, wildlife and 4 tigers!

These fire incidents are getting far too common. Nearly 5000ha of forest in Nagarhole is gone. BR Hills forests are on fire (Both in KN). Now Tadoba...What a shame!

can any one suggest a hotel there? (other than the taj, which is 20k per night)

Re: Tadoba, Pench forests, wildlife and 4 tigers!

Rahul - Factor for a 10-12Hr drive. The road upto Adilabad is fully made up, awesome quality, you can maintain an average of 3 digits. Adilabad to Nagpur is bad to average - a total of 50KM's after Adilabad (Pandharkwada 30KM & Hinganghat 20KM) is under construction with deep potholes, one way traffic and heavy truck traffic.

There are a few eating joints on the way a few at Pandharkwada, but just like the road - average to bad. I normally tank (belly) up at Hyd, eat at Jamtha (Nagpur outskirts) and proceed via the ORR to Pench (Yes, you can skip entering Nagpur and Kamptee Cant. by taking the ORR at Jamtha - There are enough signages).

The road after Kamptee to Pench about 70Km (pench) is average to bad again. The last 3 KM before you turn off to Pench from NH7 is horrible as there is a interstate toll collection booth and trucks parked/double parked on horrible roads.

I've always stayed at Kiplings court and always had pleasurable experience. The staff is courteous, food is ok and rooms very spacious and clean. Highly recommened.

PM me for more details.
