Chennai Sriperumbudur Vellore Kanchipuram Trip.

We are of four people moving to Vellore tomorrow. Tentative plan is to start at 5 am via Pallavaram,Kundrathur, Sriperumbudur,Vellore and return from Kanchipuram, Detailed travelogue with pictures will be posted tomorrrow. Vehicle RITZ VDI.

Thank you for the encouragement. The trip was over and I could resize the photos. As every body knows that the Golden temple authorities don't allow us to take photos. Due to some emergency though we went to Kanchi, we could not visit the temples of Kanchi. So Kanchipuram photos will follow later after next Visit, As you all will be anxious I will post the pictures to day and write the travelogue on return from Madurai. Tomorrow trip is towards Madurai.The photos are labeled and self explanatory. If not labeled it will be covered in the travelogue.

I have been here and loved those place except for that hot sunny environment

This place is really nice for a half day time pass. The constructions and decorations are good. but for some reason I feel, its not attracted by many people. Dont know why. May be because no place to get shade?

Hi Friends,

I had been to Vellore again and this time I found some thing unique of I20. I saw one i20 red car and 4 white ones on test drive on Bangalore Highway. The spotted i20 picture is posted here for our members to know that Hyundai is making left had drive cars too may be for export.

nice photos! regarding the i20, yes it is sold abroad - internationally it replaced the getz though they are sold along alongside in india.

Planning to make a visit to Kanchipuram this weekend. Planning to start early morning. Need to know if the temples are open as early as 6am?. Also which is the best route from Thiruvanmiyur to Kanchipuram???

TVM - Kelambakkam- Kanchi
TVM - Medavakkam - Kanchi
TVM- Sriperambedur- Kanchi
TVM - Velachery - Chrompet gate - Kanchi

Or any other better routes?

TVM - Madhya Kailash - Guindy - Porur - Ponnamalle - Kanchi. This is the best route. Kelambakkam - Medavakkam - Velachery is or anyother route is not at all advisable as most of them are in a bad state. These might seems shorter in kms but since you have to travel on smaller roads would take long time. I do atleast 2 trips a week to Vellore and Kanchi, take it from me, this is the best route.

No, Please take the straight road from Porur toward poonamalle and it will get you into the Bangalore Highway. It is all straight after that.

Hope you are aware that you need to take a left after meenakshi hospital to get into kanchipuram.

Temples open up much earlier.

All temples close by 12:00 pm and will again reopen aftet 4pm, please plan your trip and timings accordingly.

You may have to pay toll at sriperumpudur, if you are returning on the same day, take a multiple entry ticket.

You do have 2 branches of saravana bhavan at kanchipuram.

Well, its my first long trip in my car, hence little apprehensive. Never been to POrur side, so needed that detail. I have been to Ramachandra medical college once. I saw a flyover over before that alongside the lake. Do I take the right underneath the bridge and then take left on the unfinished flyover to hit B'lore highway?
