The resort did not have a single soul in there, though the resort was fully booked. Probably everybody were out sight seeing in Ooty. That was what I wanted a peaceful time.

By 16:00PM we came back to the room. PPGs were busy with their books and some TV. I took some time to catchup on my reading.

By 20:00 Hours we went back to see the activities planned for the theme night.

Re: Swifted : Ooty

Day 01
17th August 2012

We went back to the Holiday Activity Centre. The theme for the night was Badaga Tribal Dance.

Badaga Tribal Dance

I was surprised at the crowd there. All the fellows have come back after their sight seeing. The place was full.

The show managers called the crowd to the stage
Swifted : Ooty-dsc_1297.jpg

Ladies shaking their legs to a Badaga Tune
Swifted : Ooty-dsc_1299.jpg

Swifted : Ooty-dsc_1301.jpg

Jr. PPG trying a game for fun
Swifted : Ooty-dsc_1308.jpg

The crowd
Swifted : Ooty-dsc_1306.jpg

I some how did not like the crowd behaviour. They were all elbowing each other to click pictures and to get clicked with the dancers as if there was no tomorrow. ME First attitude was evident. I let the crowd to enjoy whatever they could, since these types of theme nights we've had enough! Plasticky artificial non sense!

We went to the restaurant for dinner and it was a battle field . The entire crowd were fighting for food from the Buffet arranged. I came out from the restaurant shocked!

There was some Barbecue outside

Swifted : Ooty-dsc_1317.jpg

Ordered a few plates and went back to the room. After finishing the barbecue stuff we returned back to the restaurant by 21:30 hours. The war was still going on!

One nice restaurant boy, Rajat saw that I am really irritated with the affairs. He came to us and gave us a clean table, I decided to go for ala carte. He took our orders and delivered hot food on time and were taking care of us, as and when we required. Rajat really made a difference in the other wise a battle field for food !!

By 22:30 hours we finished dinner and retired back to our rooms.

It was really chilling with temperatures close to 10 degrees with intermittent rains and heavy winds. Switched on the heater and jumped to bed, and kissed the day goodnight!

Well before I could finish off your 2006, 2009, 2010 travelogues, you had already posted two pages full of photos from your current trip. I guess, I will not use the war of common words, which by now, you would be blabbering even in your dreams(having read it over and over again in yours and HVK's photologues).

I feel these night outs at clubs/resorts always end up sore and fighting. (from my experience) people tend to get into too much of the party mood (ala. family waala party! being restricted by better halves and kids and missing bachelor life), these uncle types and aunty types are a real headache. Moreover, in doing so they pressurize their kids so much that they too tend to become a part of this chaos.
If the kids dont win in such just for fun competitions, you should see the fury of the parents concerned, as if the kids had missed the IIT seat by losing the competition.

War on food - Buffet - I have not on one occassion seen something good when a community buffet is done. I am sorry our community behaviour is pathetic.(most of us, not all! exceptions are always there.)

Nice to see that you had stayed away from this chaos.

Edit: can you post the pic of the room heater? was is gas/electric/steam?

Completely agree with you on the Club/resort activities and food part. Also Ooty was filled with city cars from Bangalore and Kerala side and bikes from Kerala side due to the long weekend. Absolute mayhem on the streets. You know what those city attitudes can do on unpredictable hilly roads!

Unfortunately I do not have a picture of the heater. It was an electric one with a fan. It was a nice compact one.

On the way to Adventure Activities, we stopped by "Holiday Activities" where Air hockey and TT and other games were available.

Adventure activities coming up on the second day!

Chaos in the night was more than adventure

Day 02
18th August 2012

mjothi reached our resort by 11:00AM

mjothi's Aveo
Swifted : Ooty-dsc_1329.jpg

Even though we stay close by in Bangalore this was our first meeting after a span of at least 1.5 years. We chatted for a while about the points of interest in Ooty. mjothi decided to show his family around Ooty, and I wanted to stay back and relax in the resort. I hinted to him that Starvegabond might join us tomorrow, but he has not yet confirmed about his plans. It was with Starvegabond and family that we went to Rajasthan last Christmas http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...mhare-des.html

mjothi leaves for Ooty
sight seeing, Jr. PPG waves them bye bye
Swifted : Ooty-dsc_1330.jpg

and I get back to my book.

Day 02
18th August 2012

By 12:00 PM, we decided to stroll around the resort for a while before going for lunch. All those in the resort had gone out for Ooty sight seeing and the resort was very silent and calm. We enjoyed the much needed peace immensely!
