Hey , Nice Pics , Planning to do Yelagiri this weekend and also planning to stay at Zeenath Taj.

Could you please elaborate since this would really help me decide on the place.

OO...That was my 100th Post...

There's nothing much to do in Yelagiri. It's a max 2 day trip. Just a small lake and a park. There's some waterfall some 35kms away, but that's not in Yelagiri. So it's just a weekend getaway.

Zeenath Taj is a nice place. It's basically a huge piece of land on which they have some cottages. The area is big enough to roam around. I liked the natural surroundings of the place. There's no Airtel network in the resort, so adds to peace of mind if you have Airtel!

Please post stay options also. That would be really helpful.

Feels like a nice weekend getaway. And with road in such nice conditions, its definitely worth it.

Road to Yelagiri is awesome with 80% being the GQ drive, and rest of the road condition is good too. It hardly takes 3hrs to reach the destination.
Stay options are quite a many, and finding accomodation shouldn't be a problem, though advance booking is preferred. Zeenath Taj and Landmark hotel are amongst the preferred in my opinion. I got the hotel details from HolidayIQ and Yelagiri Hills website.

Hey asethi , Thanks for highlighting a few points.

Few questions:
- How was the food ?
- Other than the Lake , are there any other places to visit ?
- Is there any prohibition of liquor in the resort , if you are aware?

- There are not much options for the food, and we relied on our hotel for the food. There was only buffet system, and it cost 400 bucks per day per person for all the three meals. The food was like home cooked, and quite delicious, especially the non-veg. Other options are restaurants of other hotels/resorts, and you won't find anything in the market.
- In Yelagiri only 2 places to visit, lake, the park and a temple. That's it!
- No idea about liquor prohibition!

The route is simple, just follow the Bangalore-Chennai road till the first toll gate after Krishnagiri (40kms approx after Krishnagiri). Then drive for another2-3 kms and take the service lane of the first bridge that comes along, you will find the directions for your destination. The first sign board that comes across is below the bridge that says 'Elagiri Hills'. It's just 25kms then onwards.
We booked a cottage at Taj Zeenath that had 2 interconnected rooms, and it cost us 1500+tax per room. Food is extra at 400 per day per person. On the weekdays, they offer 50% discount on the rooms.
