19th I left for the Ooty at 10:30 AM. Below are the pics on the way to Ooty. Last pics is the end of the Kerala border and start of Tamilnadu.

Nice travelogue and photos.

In one teh photos, the road with steel fence on the side is the Sandalwood forest area in Marayoor (near munnar). Everytime I pass through that, I feel like getting some sandalwood - but, since there are checkposts and checking, safe not to venture out for that.

I will be visiting this area when I am there in July and August months of this year. Please can you let me know if there are any star hotels to stay in. I am kind of spoiled by staying at lot of star hotels on business trips.

What is the closest airport to fly into to cover all these places you have visited if I decided not to drive.

Cochin or Coimbatore. if Munnar and Kodai are priorities ,then cochin airport.Munnar is around 135kms from airport.
