You can try Nature Nirvana. There is a mention of this place in the following thread as well

For some additional stay options, check the following links:

- - - WoodWay Home stay: Resort & Estate - - -

Nature Craft Homestay- Chikmagalur hotels - Nature Craft Homestay Reviews - HolidayIQ.com

In case you want budget hotels, check these hotels (inside Chickmaglur City):

a) Address of Guest house/ lodge : Soundarya residency, I.G. Road,C'Magalur
Phone Number : 08262- 235257
No. of Rooms available : 40
Air conditioned or Not : Some rooms
Govt/ Private :Private
Vehicle parking place: Yes

b) Address of Guest house/ lodge : Vasanth Vihar, BB hill/Dattatreya peeta road, Chikmagalur
Phone Number : 08262- 235585
No. of Rooms available : 20
Air conditioned or Not : Some rooms
Govt/ Private : Private
Vehicle parking place: Yes

c) Address of Guest house/ lodge : Hotel Rajmahal, I.G.Road, Chikmagalur
Phone Number : 08262- 236451
No. of Rooms available : 48

IMHO, in case you are going to Chickmaglur for sightseeing, then you can opt for budget hotels ( as you will be generally spending your entire day outside). But yes, the resort mentioned in the links as well as one posted by Hondadude, will have their own charm (peaceful and closer to nature). Enjoy Maadi..

Thanks TSEA and Honda Dude.

Yeh, budget hotel makes sense as I would be out throughout the day. But, I would like to book some place where someone had a pleasant experience/ book Taj as my family is coming with me. If nothing materializes by next week, I will opt for Taj.

Help needed: Bangalore-Chikmagalur-Bangalore trip

Hi Guys
I traced the Chikamagalur trip travelogue and found it interesting, can someone who has recently traveled to Chikamagalur please recommend the better route among the two routes: Bangalore-Hassan-Belur-Chikamagalur or Bangalore-Tumkur-Arisikere-Kadur-Chikamagalur. I would be interested to know about the road conditions(which is more fit) on these two routes as well as the conditions of the local roads between Chikamagalur-Kemmanagundi-Bhadra resvr. Also can someone suggest the approx time/dist for the travel, i plan to visit Kemmanagundi over a weekend. There must be some good restraunts and fuel stations on both the routes, can you give me some good pitstops.
All your help appreciated and i will definetly write a travelogue after completeting trip
Thanks

Bangalore-Hassan-Belur-Chikamagalur route is the better one, in fact it is the best one (minus the roads in Hassan).

I did Bangalore - Chikmagalur last month.

Bangalore - Hassan stretch is decent, with some broken patches
Hassan - Belur - is a dream come true
Belur - Chikmagalur is decent, with some care needed near curves/bridges

Bangalore - Chikmagalur route intel

I recently had to make a quick trip to Chickmaglur (13th-15th June 2008) to visit my bro who had met with an accident there. Since I was doing the route for the first time, I checked out the forums here and found this thread which was quite informative as to the route to be taken.

I'm posting a few pics taken along the route. Hope these will give a rough idea of this stretch to other novices like me who might want to travel this way and want to know what this circuit looks like.

I would request all members to post pics like these while writing their travelogues. In the stress-filled moments prior to a family-emergency trip like the one I undertook, pics like these will be comforting and more informative rather than just text descriptions -- especially to those travelling alone!!

Anyways, thanks once again to all those who originated and contributed to this thread.

Mostly all travelogues will have pics and route info. Pls do the search and you will find many. This is exceptional thread wherein there was no pics posted.

BTW, the pics you have taken is nice. And good info about the roads too.

The travelogues will also have other details like distance travelled, FE you have got, what fuel you have used, what are the places visited, how was the drive etc etc...This will help other people reading abd visualize the same.

Hi MudMover,

Nice pics there. I am surprised to see such nice roads between Hassan and Chikmagalur.

BTW how is your brother doing now. Wish him a speedy recovery.

Thanks guys! Bro's recovering fine.

I'm attaching a few pics I didn't post earlier out of embarassment.

On my last day there, my bro took me sight-seeing to a place on the way to the Muthodi forest. Since I forgot my digicam at home, the only other option was my 1.3 mp phone camera.

Trip from Bangalore to Chikmagalur

Hi,

I am not sure if thread already exists on this !!

I am planning to travel from Bangalore to Chikmagalur this weekend. The intention is to be away from Bangalore for 2 days, maybe leave Bangalore on Friday afternoon and be back by Sunday evening. Any suggestions on route and place to visit and stay is most welcome.

Note from Team-BHP Support : Thread MERGED. Please use the search feature before creating a new thread on a topic that might already exist. Please continue your discussion in an existing thread. This will keep all the relevant information in one place and make it easier for readers in the future.

There are 2 routes to Chikmagalur:
Route1: Bangalore - Tumkur - Arsikere - Kadur - Birur - Lingadahalli - Chikamagalur (you will cover Kemmanagundi)

Route2: Bangalore - Neelamangala - Kunigal - Chennarayanpatna - Hassan - Belur - Chikamagalur (Original route)

You can try out both the route, one for going and one in the return.

Search for homestays / hotels in Chikamagalur.
