I had this trip planned for ages now. Finally both me and my gf got time to make this trip turn into reality. Well almost.
Thursday : All bookings done. Eagerly awaiting for Friday morning.
Bad luck follows. Dad goes and gives the swift for 3rd service and minor accidental damages without informing. RNS Motors slated to return the car only by Saturday. Panic sets in.
Frantic calls to RNS, but they say everything is dismantled, car cannot be returned that evening.
Call up every Cab Service in town to hire a Self Driven cab but to no avail. They have a long list of procedures to be completed and they need a MINIMUM of 24hrs after filing in of papers. Damn! Just 10 hrs to go for scheduled departure. And I have no ride

.
Decide to fly down to Cochin, Zak promises to get me a self driven cab for 3 days. Jay, speaks to a couple of friends and promises to get me a self drivern Santro from Bangalore itself. Some relief. Atleast I am prepared with some back up plans.
Awake for most part of the night, planning the route we were going to take. Akroy helps in with his suggestions. Still undecided whether to take the flight or the car.
Friday: Get a call from RNS Motors @ 8 am saying they shall fix the car back and hand it over immediately. Huge sigh of relief. Go to their workshop and get the car around 11 am. Head to brraj's office to pick up the cam and we are on our way to the probably the most romantic place in this side of the country.
First stop for lunch at A2B, Hosur. And we spotted this.
The route we took was Bangalore-Hosur-Krishnagiri-Dharmapuri-Salem-Bhavani-Erode-Dharapuram-Udumalaipettai-Marayoor-Munnar.
The journey was rather pleasant. Thank god the Salem stretch is in good condition. Traffic was manageable.
We reached Munnar at around 11 pm. A guy from the hotel who would take us to the place we had booked was ahead of us in an auto. After travelling about 8 kms from the town we reached the place. The place was just amazing, we talked for a while and hit the sack.
Hey Rahul,
Nice pics . Makes me wanna go back to munnar again. Me and Deepali honeymooned there :)
Vijay
Incase you guys are wondering where I took these pics from?
Its from here.
Incase you are wondering where we stayed, here is a teaser.
The tree house belongs to the Munnar Inn group of hotels. The place is not apt for the faint hearted. Though there is electricity, sounds of certain animals, even the sounds of some animals climbing the stairs to the tree house is pretty scary. We loved it.
This is bedroom.
The bathroom is well maintained and neatly kept as well. The bathroom has a small opening from where you can look into the forest. We both are glad that we decided to stay in a tree house. It costs 2.5k per day. Worth every penny. The stay here will be etched in our memories forever.
The caretakers of the tree house.
We had some visitors as well.

Much tamer compared to Vythri tree house, the bathroom/bedroom has walls/doors and you have stairs, etc.:)
The tree house is a damn good idea - at least Achchumama and his band of communist goons cannot claim land encroachment to raze down this resort.
On second thoughts, you cant put anything past them - they might claim the tree is encroaching govt property and cut it down.
Nice pictures Rahul. So finally the issue in the thread is sorted out. Great.
The pictures with the clouds over the Mountain is really good. Hope you had a nice time.
Wow, the last pic is similar to that of the baleno one which you had taken earlier, will be hitting the roads next month end for this heavenly trip. nice pics rahul need more :)
