Re: Sun, sea and boat rides! Vacation in Langkawi, Malaysia

Hi AD ,
How did you manage the Forex transaction over there. Did you take any prepaid forex card , if yes then from which bank?
I am in a dilemma if I should take a prepaid forex card or Convert INR to MYR in cash.

@Dr.AD: your photo's are simply mind-blowing. Makes any place look appealing.

Great crisp Holiday report. Seems like a very relaxed holiday and not a ''Do everything we can since we are here'' kind of holiday.

As usual, ours was a somewhat last minute plan when we got some free time away from our work schedules towards the end of the year. It helped that Malaysia has visa-free entry for Indian citizens now, and it also helped that there are direct flights from Bangalore to Langkawi now. So without much planing or preparation, we just booked our tickets, hopped on the plane and had a great time in Langkawi!

.
Hi just wanted to confirm on this as I'm planning langkawi. I thought the visa free arrival for Indians was only via KL international airport. So there's no issue with going straight into langkawi?

Thanks a lot @1400rpm. Yes, our vacations are usually relaxing type with lot of time spent in finding nice spots and just sitting there enjoying the views.

For example, we spent lot of hours enjoying the views of the sea from our balcony. And even when we went to that "Maha Tower" and found that the views from the top balcony are breathtaking, we spent a couple of hour there just enjoying the views instead of rushing around to do something else.

Thanks again for your kind words!

Indians do not need visa for short travel (I think upto 30 days max) to Malaysia. You just need to fill an online arrival card a couple of days before your arrival and land there with your passport.

And yes, this applies to entire Malaysia including Langkawi. The visa requirements are not specific to the airport. The same requirements apply whether you fly to KL or fly directly to Langkawi. It does not matter.
