No I dont have (yet). Will probably install when I do snorkel in the future. Until then I need to be careful not to cross deep water with a hot diff. I waited 20 mts before doing the river crossing here. An year back I did a track with 25+ river crossing in a day and oil was perfectly fine after that.

Right, in H4 for throughout except for the last dune where I put 4L. I could have done that too in H4 !!

Pajero sport used 86L to cover ~620km (close to expected number of 85)

I am with an insurance carrier specialized in 4WDs and I've taken a recovery add on for $30K. Depending on where a vehicle gets stuck, recovery may be 1 day to 2 week away and generally costs $450/hr.

Congratulations on your epic drive and successfully completing it.

Do you have any night videos of your camping in the desert? I am curious to hear the sounds of the night.

Truly Epic. Kudos on taking up a challenge as Arduous as this. Seems like this route is a quite common amongst Adventure seekers like you going by the Camp grounds enroute.

The sound of night is silence and videos don't do justice to capture it. It's very very silent. On day 4 night we heard the sound of a diesel engine and the car ( a recovery Unimog from Mt Dare) came 20 mts later.

There are 2 parallel tracks for east to west crossing . And people are allowed to camp anywhere within 100m of the designated track. All these so called 'camps' shown in campsite locator apps are nothing but a flat spot where few cars can be parked. There are only 3 proper camp spots within 400km or so.

Quite daring.

Why is the car under the canopy and people sleeping under the sky?

Car is not under canopy. Its an awning attached to the car. The swags are used to sleep under the sky, its rain proof, but I normally keep it under the awning to reduce condensation outside. If its very cold & windy outside, I install the awning tent which attaches to the awning.

And thats my camping set up (used once or twice every year)

Congrats for completing this trip that you've been talking about for long, Jithin. Immense preparation and being flexible enough to accommodate changes helped.

Enjoyed reading through the log.
