re: Annapurna Circuit | Solo Trek

Awesome achievement, nice write up and great pics. This is an experience to tell the kids and grandkids again and again.
Did you train much for this trek, and was language ever an issue during the journey?

1. Yes, I did train for the trek, one hour of Cardio twice to thrice per week plus some strength training. I followed this schedule for 4-5 months. In the end, you need good lung capacity to do such things.

2. Language is not an issue in the trek, most of them understood and spoke Hindi.

re: Annapurna Circuit | Solo Trek

Very inspiring! I did very many treks back in Northern Europe. And was prepping up for one base camp trek - either Kanchanjunga or the Annapurna just during the COVID period.

This give me a bit of motivation more to train harder and get all thes plans in place! I have just started on a yoga regimen, will be ramping up on my 4x4 high intensity interval training, and steady state cardio to get my body back in shape.

You can definitely do Annapurna Base Camp (BC) solo. Fun fact is during Annapurna Circuit trek, you will never be able to see Annapurna 1, the main peak.

Kanchenjunga BC as I said now requires a guide, you will have to meet an agent who will pair you up with someone who is ready to do it. I researched about Kanchenjunga BC also and you can do slight variation while returning back from BC.

Congratulations on your fantastic achievement! Mountaineering is truly a unique experience. You have to hike a mountain to understand it truly. I hope you reach many more summits in the future.

I hiked to Everest Base Camp in October 2023, but I needed to work on writing a detailed post about it. My first hike was on Kilimanjaro back in 2014. It took me 9 years to climb another mountain. My next climb will likely come sooner rather than later.

A suggestion to anyone planning EBC, pls take the Gorkuri/Chola Pass route. It adds 2 days, less crowded and more beautiful than the regular route.

Yes, lot of people now a days do the Cho La route. Actually people now trek the EBC area with three passes, Renjo La, Cho La and Kongma La. This makes the trek long but more fulfilling.

The main EBC route is still good though, lot of people do the old traditional route even now.

Very compelling write up and makes me rethink what all I can do while my body is still holding up! Bravo.
