I visited in 2013 or 2014 in late May.
It was quite crowded. The below pic should give you an idea.

Yup, probably it was the effect of summer holidays. Good that we went just before the holiday season!

Nice travelogue, thanks for putting this up. This helps me in planning for the south Coorg and Kutta areas.

Thanks for sharing the information on the places of stay. Where did you stay in Mysore, or did I miss that?

Thanks for reading! Glad that the information shared here would help you.
Yes, I intentionally skipped mentioning Mysore stay since I would not recommend it. The only reason I went for it since we were halting for just a night. Though the rooms were clean and was economical, they allow smoking inside the rooms despite this place is mentioned as smoke-free property in Google! I would have not opted if I had prior information on the same. Because of this the bad odour had spread everywhere. We experienced difficulty in sleeping even with open windows since the air was not clean. Other than that it was near to all major hotspots like palace, ksrtc bus stand, etc. Below is the location, just FYI:

Thanks for the inputs. This helps the other way as well - we can now skip this option. Mysore is the pit stop for me for KA/KL trips, and hence I keep looking for options .
