Interesting pictologue Narayan and thanks so much for posting this.

About 4 years back I had been to a tractor museum in the outskirts of Perth, WA and had taken pictures to post them here in tbhp. The lazy me still has them in my google photos and this inspires me to do the same.

Thanks again for sharing.

Re: Pictologue - Sydney Bus Museum

Dear @narayan,

Other than sharing a name we seem to share a fascination with buses too. Thank you for the effort and time you have taken to click and share these telling photographs and for the stories behind several of these buses. Buses are far far more useful to society than cars but we automotive fans heap our love on cars rather than the real people movers.

Thanks for sharing! Quite an interesting place.

This Chevy truck transported me back to Longewala, as a strikingly similar vehicle (abandoned by the enemy) is on display there.

The accompanying description does say a few variants made their way to different commonwealth countries, but, unsure if some ended up in Pakistan as well?

Funny one. I bet they can't run such an ad campaign in the 21st century. Can get away with a lot back then.

Re: Pictologue - Sydney Bus Museum

There was also a section where all the driver uniforms over the years were displayed

A few things that stood out for me.

1. The period ads ( and as KIKU007 mentioned - the way some were inappropriate for today's times )
2. Did you all zoom in and read about the front engined double decker bus prototype in post 11 ? I suppose, it would have been the only bus with the engine behind the front axle if it had gone into production ? that was unique to me
3. How the Mercedes rear engined buses revolutionised public transport ( I truly this is an innovation at many levels )
4. Buses transforming themselves during the war times ( imagine travelling through armoured public transport not knowing when a bomb might drop nearby )
5. The quality of seating and space was quite nice even in those early buses ( possibly a function of the state of economy of these countries - we still have to grapple with people sitting on top of trains in India )

I am curious to know if there is anything similar to this in India ?
