Dude, you spoiled my work day with your travelogue. Couldn't put it down without reading the entire journey. Wishing many more enjoyable trips for you!

Re: South to North: Chennai to Ladakh Diary

Oh Man!
Congratulations for your memorable journey!
And thank you for making my Sunday a bit 'nostalgic'.

What a transition from this:

to this:

I travel to Manali thrice a year to visit the paradise that lays beyond Atal Tunnel.
The experience is a thousand times more worthy that the pain we take to reach this paradise.
You planned and executed immaculately. Kudos to your drive!!

One thing that I do beyond Atal Tunnel is that I don't buy any water bottles.
Rather, I look for natural springs to fill out all flasks and bottles in my car.

Here is the place where I filled my bottles, last June.

The road before the Aut Tunnel, where you posed with your tank ... That has become butter-smooth now.

And we are expecting the new route to open by the first week of May, that will reduce the travel time between Delhi to Manali, to 8 hours.

Staying at Jispa is better to avoid AMS but staying at Sarchu takes a toll.

Can you help me with the details of the restaurant near Balh, where you spent like an hour?

It would be a treat for my eyes if you could share a few pictures of those places along with your travel pictures.

Sure, I have not captured the restaurant name anywhere, and it seems like it's not mentioned anywhere near the hotel. I have gone through my pictures and found few information. However, here's the exact GPS location - Click here

That's where this hotel is located, opposite to Rakaani Adventures. We went inside that adventure to reach the river where we took a few pics, and here's one of them.

Another hint I found was this board: 'River Touch Complex Piridi Kullu.

Inside hotel I took only this picture.

Opposite side.

Hope this helps!.

Excellent Travelogue crammed with details interspersed with amazing photographs. You have achieved your dream of going to Leh at this age itself while for me - it still remains a dream.

I took a couple of hours to go through your post at one go. What a Journey !
It will be etched in your memory for all your life. Congratulations on getting such good friends too.
