Chapter (2) The Start

So we woke up at 7:00 am In the morning. We cleaned and polished the car and prepared snacks for travelling because On Samrudhi there is no place to eat. We removed the car from the parking and filled it with Shell Petrol near our home then we filled the normal air of 33 PSI in all tyres(Recommended by Maruti Itself). And then we headed towards Shirdi Interchange by Pune-Nashik Road because Nashik Phata is close and doesn't have much traffic other than at Chakan. We joined Nashik-Pune road by 9:30 because we had to Install TPMS which leaked little air when we tried to install it. So we went to MSIL Center then it was fitted by them neatly.

Chapter (3) Reaching towards Shirdi Interchange

We went towards Sangamner. I told my son to turn of Gmaps as I thought we would make turn right in Sangamner(Told by Amrikan maps). But sometime later my son checked gmaps and he found out that By this route we don't go inside Sangamner, it is bypassed. So we turned right to Nimon Karhe road which was fine with no potholes but a narrow road but the tarmac was good like new. Then we reached Nimon, and from there we again turned right then we merged into Highway 160D which we continued straight for 40 mins surprisingly the road dropped us near Shirdi Airport road. So we turned left towards Airport RD then we continued straight till the road ended at Nimgaon Korhale which is very near to Shirdi. Now 2 km before Nimgoan we filled our fuel tank neck to neck (To actually round up the money to be in 100's. But it was a precaution also), we asked the person at the Petrol pump for a nice hotel, he suggested Swastik hotel which is 200 meter far from Interchange. The hotel was Nice and Neat. The food was very tasty and Hot and I would suggest you take soda without sugar. And please don't eat Special Khakra that is very oily. You can eat whatever you want I am just suggesting. After eating, the bill was around 800rs.

Chapter (4) Samrudhi Mahamarg

Pune to Shegaon trip on the Samruddhi Mahamarg-20230217_165838.jpg

We climbed up the interchange and the most fun part of the journey began. The roads are super smooth and S-cross handles very well. We were travelling at 110 km/hr in the right-most lane.

But the car was giving mileage of around 13km/l. So I turned on cruise control and managed a speed of 120 km/hr. Then it gave a mileage of 15 km/L which is kind of unexpected how can a car give more mileage with more speed?

Now please don't overspeed for at least 50 km from the start because currently there is only 1 Speed Cam which is near Shirdi. And you don't sense the speed you are going because of the Very nice engineering of the road. And if you open the window even for 5 mins, you will get tired.

Some people were resting under the Wildlife overpass. Please don't rest on the road because the driver of other cars get confused and mishaps can happen. After some km from Shirdi, you will see multiple Fuel pumps, go and rest there.

Chapter (5) Towards Shegoan

We took the exit at Mehekar after 30 Mins discussion with My wife. Her relatives told us to take the Malegoan Jahangir exit but I insisted as gmaps was telling 2 hrs early by this Mehekar route. The route was nice and smooth. But there were 2-3 rough road patches which are manageable by S-cross

Clean River

Chapter (5) Reached Shegoan

We reached Shegaon at 6:40. But 10 km before Shegoan Front Right Tyre Temperature went to 60 Degrees Celcius. So we stopped and sprayed some water. The tyre was so hot that when we poured water the water became vapour.

Chapter (6) Conclusion of trip 1

We started at 9:30 AM and ended at 6:40.
  • Time: 9hrs
  • Kilometers: 511 Km

Chapter (6) Going to Chalisgoan

On 18 Feb we decided to travel to Chalisgoan which is Home Town of my wife because it was Birthday of my wife.

Now the total distance from Chalisgoan to Shegaon was 250 Km by our regular Shegoan -> Jalgoan -> Pachora -> Chalisgoan Route which took 5hrs and 50 mins

But that time google suggested us longer route which was Shegaon -> Mehekar entry -> Samarudhi Mahamarg -> Aurangabad exit -> Kannad Ghat -> Chalisgoan. Now, this route was 325 Km and it was showing a duration of 5 hrs 10 mins.

Now me and my wife were against the google suggested route because the Kannad ghat is like betting on time. Because sometimes Kannad Ghat can save you 40 mins or it will be so jammed that it will delay your destination by 3hrs or the ghat can get totally blocked.

And we were gonna reach Chalisgoan in the evening which was fixed because we had to do lunch and take darshan of Shree Gajanan Maharaj. This would mean that we will start the journey at around 2-3 PM. And Kannad Ghat is Jammed in the evening and that day was Saturday.

We had lunch at 11:00 and took "Mukh Darshan" because the Normal darshan could have taken a time of 2hrs and the temple was crowded. But let me say this, this Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan is the most hygienic disciplined Temple in the whole of India. Now you would say what am I saying? I would suggest you go there for at least 2-3 days. And there is a system that tells us which Darshan would take how much time. Mukh Darshan was 10 mins and Normal Darshan was 2 hrs as I already told.

Now we started the journey at 2:00 PM. And we decided we are gonna go with the normal route via Jalgaon. We arrived at khamgaon at 2:40 Pm from there we headed towards Jalgoan with NH53 which is Mumbai/Surat/Kolkata highway. We reached Jalgaon at 5:30 PM which was very fast considering that road was allowed for Bikes as well now we had an average speed of 100 km/hr here. Now we filled the tank again of 4000rs now we fueled Indian Oil 95XP. After filling the petrol you can immediately feel more refined and have a little bit of extra punch between 2000 to 3000 rpm. So now back to the topic, there were 2 options here google suggested 1st one was Jalgoan -> Erandol -> Bhadgoan -> Chalisgoan and 2nd one was Jalgoan -> Pachora -> Bhagoan -> Chalisgoan.

So we needed to decide which route was better Erandol or Pachora. I called my friends and they told me that avoid the Pachora route because it has some very nice patches of Cement Road and 20 km of the road which couldn't be specified as a "road". But after a 15 mins break, we decided to go through that bad road because we thought we would cover that time which will be wasted in bad roads. And the decision was so bad that we thought Kannad Ghat would have been a great deal. This route actually delayed us by more than 1 hr. So we reached Chalisgoan at 8:00 Pm. The route we travelled was so pathetic that the car wouldn't go over 20 Km/hr.

See the road

We celebrated her b'day

And we stayed Chalisgoan till Sunday (19 Feb)

Chapter (7) Going to Home

The return Journey begins on Monday (20 Feb). We packed our bags and left the house at 10:00 AM. On Monday the Google Maps decided to show us the route:
Chalisgoan -> Kannad Ghat -> Takli Interchange -> Samrudhi Mahamarg -> Kopargoan exit -> Sangamner -> Wakad(Home). And he told us we would get home at 5:00 Pm (7 hrs) which was 340 km long. This route actually saved 2 hrs and had a very fun route. So we left chalisgoan at 10 Am and then went into Kannad Ghat there was no traffic as such because Monday and we were travelling during the day. Then we continued straight on Mumbai-Agra or Dhule-Solapur Road. We maintained a speed of 110 km/hr on this route. After 80km / 1hr, we climbed the interchange and we were now on samadhi Mahamarg. Now we had only 86 Km of fun on this route. So again we did cruise control of 110 Km/hr this time. When we were 20-30 km away from the exit we were cruising "around" 120 km/hr at that time we saw a speed gun van and the car was beeping I am sure the speed was 120. At around 12:15, we arrived at hotel Swastik again.

We did our 40 min break and resumed the journey. Now this time we took right turn to go to Sangamner city. On 17 feb we didn't go inside Sangamner, this time we did because google suggested. And as always gogole was wrong last time we actually forgot to take to exit to Sangamner city but that route was actually much better than this route because last time we encountered only highways now this time there was mild trafic and bad roads. So i suggest everyone who are going shirdi from Nashik Phata not to exit on Sangamner. Then we merged on to Pune-Nashik Road then we arrived home at 5:00 which means we arrived 3hrs early because of samarudhi mahamarg. Google told us that it would take around 7hrs but we did it in 7hrs but with 1hr break.

The End
