Re: The Cold : A bike ride of over 3500 kms to the North East including NathuLa

Wow Imran! Lovely travelogue. Thanks for the lovely write up and A1 pictures.
I am anyway a fan of north-east travel so this was very interesting to me. More so, since I recently travelled to ML by road from Ranchi.

In fact, just like you, I was in Dawki- same spot on the same day- 22nd Jan. It would have been great to meet you.

Dawki water is surreal. Sharing a couple of pictures that I took on the same day.

My friend shared these two pics and I thought of adding them here.

As I sit in the simmering heat of the incoming summer, I hope I can escape back to the mountains.

A lot has been written about this pass. I will only describe my ride to the top. Before the ride we needed passes etc. All that was taken care off by an agent.

We got the passes in the morning for our 2 bikes and the thar.
Hey bblost,

Than you for sharing your wonderful journey here.

Just wondering if you still happen to have the contact details of the agent who managed the passes to take your non-sikkim vehicles to Nathu La. We are planning for a trip on Jan'24, as of now every agent I have contacted echoes the same, i.e. no pvt vehicles allowed to Nathu La/Changu/Baba Mandir.

Incidentally I was in Nathu-La earlier this week for a drive event. Am currently writing that travelogue.

I did see quite a lot of private bikes and a few cars also climbing up to the pass. The last kilometer however cannot be traversed using a private car. They allowed bikes.

In January, my friend (Viju) had used the service of Amazing Adventure (DK), 8927731393

Have a safe trip. Its totally worth it.
