Somehow Bijapur plays a distant cousin to Hampi and so, one misses it out, though it is not far.
Very true. I have been to Hampi many times but never went to Bijapur, although it is quite close from there. Somehow Bijapur is not a destination that comes to mind for road trips. I am glad I changed that statistic and visited Bijapur. I am sure to go back again there now.

Thank you very much. Yes, photography is something I am genuinely enjoying, and learning more with each trip. Also, this hobby of photography goes well with my love for driving and road trips, so overall both these hobbies are growing together.

Thank you very much, Ampere! You are the expert in all driving options. Hopefully I will get a chance to go on a drive with you someday and we can take photos of our red cars together at some scenic location :-)

The best time if you want to snap is the sunrise. Its really amazing you see the rays hitting the hill or you being at the top and looking into the first rays of the sun. And that small water body: You should see that place in winter when the sun hits!
Agree, and thank you for the tips. Yes, it would be best to visit that place before sunrise. This time we got a bit late (we reached around 7:30AM). I will probably do another drive there soon, and that time I will make sure to reach that place before sunrise.

Hello Doc,

Your penchant for travelling and going out on drives is really inspiring! Very crisp write-up and equally good clicks to complement your story!
Devarayanadurga is where our home deity resides, so we drive down there very often. Village roads Enroute also provide excellent birding (some rare endemic ones too) opportunities, early during sunrise. If you follow the Bhoga Narasimha temple road all the way to the end, there is a small road which takes you up a hillock, offering some mesmerising views of landscape around.

Cheers,
Ashish

Thanks for these tips. Yes, an early morning drive there (before the sunrise) is something I will do at the next possible opportunity. We were actually thinking of driving on that road you mentioned and going to that view point. However, since we were running short of the time we had to skip that. I will definitely visit it the next time.

That area is certainly very scenic with many temples and viewpoints around. Definitely worth going back there for a more detailed exploration. Thanks again for your tips.

Yes, somehow parrots seem to love these old monuments. I think they have a grate taste for the perfect locations :-) These old monuments are so enchanting and the freedom to fly around there must be so amazing. I can imagine how lucky those parrots are who are flying around freely in these magical old buildings.

Thank you for sharing those pictures. That monument looks amazing.
Thank you Doc! Indeed, a true blue SUV and a sleek fast sedan would be a dream garage for sure. Its just that we are already having more cars at home than we can properly utilize - so making space for another one would mean letting one of the existing cars go. That's what I am trying to figure out currently, but yes a 330i is on top of my list for the next one that comes to our garage. I appreciate you having in my Lal Ghoda thread, as they say the best is yet to come!
