Loved reading this log.

I was in Spiti in mid October of 2021 and knew a Western Disturbance(WDs) is going to hit from 17th Oct. I escaped from Kaza on 16th Oct to Manali, that was the last day Kunzum pass was operational. You really need to keep an eye out for these WDs hitting Himalayas as they originate from Mediterranean sea.

You were not able to visit Hikkim, Komic as these roads were black topped recently. My cab driver whom I had hired for one day told me that black ice will get formed on it and police block the roads.

The road to even Key Monastery was also blacktopped few days back. You were able to visit it at least. The road to Demul gains height very rapidly but it's a big village, saw it from Lallung valley. I didn't visit the Pin valley as I was traveling through public transport and escaping Spiti before WD hits was my first priority.
