Road-trip to the Pacific Northwest of the USA

We recently spent a week in the Pacific Northwest. We flew to Seattle, and stayed at a vacation home in Packwood (South of Mount Rainier by White river). Then we drove to Sequim for a couple days, then a couple more days in Seattle. Here are some (phone) pictures.

Drive to Packwood

Reflection Lake. Early in the morning when the air is still, one can see a perfect reflection of Mt. Rainier in the lake. For lazy bums like us who wake up at 8AM, this is the best we can do.

We have not been on a vacation this relaxing in a while. We kept it to one short trail per day, and totally made up for that exercise - ate well, slept well, played lots of board games sitting under huge trees. We made lots of great memories. I certainly recommend staying in the town of Packwood.

Hi GutsyGibbon,

Nice pictures, more like a photo-blog.

We did something similar back in Oct'19

We flew from Pittsburgh to Seattle

Our itinerary ( For anyone interested ) was like

On the evening we arrived at Seattle, we rented an Outback and drove to Eugene, Oregon

Day 1
1. Eugene to Crater Lake
2. Cannon Beach
3. Stayed for the night at Portland

Day 2
1. Vista House
2. Multnomah Falls
3. Mt Hood
4. Mt Rainier
The Drive through Route 35 and 26 is breathtaking.

We spent time at Timberland Lodge and did a small trek along one of the easier trails and then the energizing and refreshing hot chocolate.

Spent the night just north of Seattle

Day 3
1. Olympic National Forest
2. Hurricane Ridge
3. Ruby Beach

Stunning drive along Lake Crescent while heading towards Ruby beach and back to Seattle.

Day 4
1. Boeing Factory tour
2. Had just about time for a quick visit to the First Starbucks
3. Quick walk around downtown Seattle, to pick up a Fridge Magnet ( I have to pick up one everywhere I do )
4. Fly back to Pittsburgh.

Being my first time with the Subaru Outback, I was mighty impressed. We got a pretty much brand new car that had done less than 500 odd miles.

Thanks nikhilarni.
That is a fine itinerary with so many interesting places, it must have been a memorable trip for you.

I didn't really have much to create a blog. We really did so little. If I tried mine would say, Day 6- read the book "Being mortal" at Seahurst Park, Seattle. Or, Day 2 - played rummy by white river.

Being a pacific northwestern myself, I would say this is a gem of a place to relax and unwind. I had to recently move to hot and humid Texas after being in Portland, OR for over 3 years. Thanks for sharing your photo-blog, made me take a trip down the memory lane .
