One thing that stands out is the motorable trip to Brian Head Peak which at 11312' is a shade less than Leh at 11483' , and almost double of Ooty/Munnar. That was something I had to search out on internet. The view was fantastic and one could see the slopes of the winter time multiple ski resorts from there.
Thank for the compliments mmxylorider. Glad that this post is making folks go down their memory lane. For me, it made me compare and contrast the valley of flowers trek I did last year. Please share your Utah story. I would love to read it as my wife has spoken volumes of Utah's beauty.

Enjoyed reading the travelouge thoroughly.
It brought back sweet memories as we used to frequent these areas during family trips when in school. I so hope to do such a trip soon.

One little thing for readers, 'danda' is not pronounced as used in 'police ka danda', rather its correct pronunciation is 'daanda'.

That was exactly as we as non locals read the word danda till Pravesh bhai our guide told that Daanda or area is what it means.

Excellent narrative.
I have been doing at-least one trek every year since last 8 years but could not go on trek in 2020. Your wonderful experience has rekindled the long subdued desire of going on trek.
Also, do consider Pranayama along with physical exercise for your next trek, from personal experience.

Couldn't agree more that Pranayam would greatly help as breathing is much an important aspect of trekking as is strength in legs.

Have been putting this off but need to start as have started doing smaller treks every one or two months starting with Munnar.

Cheers.

By the way, did anyone attempt to guess this?

The amount of snowfall can be best gauged by this photo of guess who or what ? in front of the dining tent.

This is typical scope creep in auto industry terms.

All pahadis look the same bro. In Himachal or Sikkim.

Short legged. Huge thick coats. Short snouts.

Hey Vijay, All good here. How are Kranti and Smriti doing? Trip to Shangarh was awesome. We had to make alternate reservations in Shangarh, thanks to your's and Kranti's suggestion, and we choose Woodzo. It was a great experience.

Fresh snowfall at chilapada camp site.

It is Deja Vu time.Revisiting Dayara Bhugyal but with a twist as was trekking with first timers Kanthi and Smrithi and in spring time.

But nature or climate change had the last laugh as it showered us with rains, hail storm, snowfall and finally some sunshine when we were expecting sunshine with remnants of snow at the summit and maybe a rare glimpse of the rhododendrons. This March 25 trek did have some tricks up its sleeve fulfilling wishes of many of the 25 of us who experienced this trek with India Hikes of doing a snow trek.Let the pics do the talking before I fill in the details of the experience.
