Re: New Year road-trip to Munsyari in a Honda City

Lovely travelogue warrioraks! Some lovely photos and crisp writeup! I'm partial to pre-owned & happy to see that you're enjoying your experience with one.

One cannot go wrong with a Honda City for most stuff!

Munsiyari is one of my go-to destinations for this year.

Could you shed some light on the KVMN accommodations in Munsiyari - from a family with kids stay perspective? Comfort, safety, etc.? Are there any other hotels/B&Bs there worth a dekho?

Also, did you get an opportunity to check out Binsar on-route?

Keep traveling & stay safe!

Thanks Prateek.
It is only because of Tbhp that I started looking for a pre-owned car. Otherwise pre-owned is not even considered an option in my close and extended family. Moreover I have always been a sucker for 3rd gen looks so the only way to get it was the pre-owned route
To my good luck, I got a well maintained automatic car from a retired army personnel at the price of a new Maruti Espresso. Thoroughly enjoying it.

On accommodation if I was with my family, I would not look beyond KMVN. The staff, location and food were amazing. Rooms were good as well considering this part of the country is not very commercialized.
Munsyari has limited lodging options so a few weeks advance booking is required in peak season. My friend checked out a couple of other properties (Milam inn, Vijay resort) as well before finalizing KMVN.

We did not stop at Binsar because I had already stayed at the KMVN Tourist Rest House inside the wild-life sanctuary on a previous trip. At that time, the place had electricity only for a couple of hours every day and we were given candles once it got dark. It was an experience to remember. Highly recommended.

Looking forward to your travelogue to Kumaon!
