Malshej ghat is a small yet popular hill station in Western Ghats. It is around 150 kilometres from Powai, Mumbai. During monsoon this place attracts lot of local people and car enthusiasts due to its unfathomable beauty. All those waterfalls come down on the road and you drive though them penetrating those beautiful water strips.
My cousin brother had come to visit me during monsoon. We both and two of my friends were having tea in the evening of a rainy Friday and planning to go for a day drive to a near by place. Having brainstorming, we ended up with Malshej and I quickly booked a EcoSport Titanium TDCi through “Myles”. Usually I prefer "Zoomcar" however this time prior to booking I checked the rent in Zoomcar, Revv and Myles. For my surprise I got the best deal in Myles and I booked the EcoSport for 24 hours rental.

I had to pick the car from Mulund and the experience with Myles was absolutely smooth. It is noteworthy to mention that I did not have to pay any security deposit due to some available offer.

We started from Powai by 8 am and after crossing Thane creek we took the Kalyan-Murbad state highway. The road condition within Mumbai city is not worthy to mention though after crossing Thane the Tarmac got smoother and the condition of road was very good in the Kalyan-Malshej segment. The traffic up to Kalyan was moderate and after that it was a blissful drive. Just after crossing Murbad, I saw the watch and it was 10.05 am. So we decided to feel our empty tummy and we stopped in a roadside Dhaba. From there, my cousin Sudip took the steering while I was enjoying sheer beauty of monsoon. We had to take several stops for photo shoot. As a result we reached to the viewpoint quite late at about 12 o' clock in the noon.

After spending some time in the main view point we drove around 10 kilometres and then took a diversion to narrow hilly road. It was indeed steep but took us to a beautiful spot.

This trip was made couple of years back. Hence, no permissions were required that time.
