Woah! So many comments and applause for the beauty of Switzerland. I am confident now that I have been able to showcase the beauty of Switzerland at least to some extent! Thanks a lot everyone.

Thanks a lot! I haven't been to Khajjiar, but its beautiful. I think quotes like "Switzerland of India" or "Mini Switzerland" tagged to various places in India brings down the uniqueness of each place in our country. India is beautiful in its own unique way, it never needed a Swiss tag to attract tourists. We have the Great Himalayan Range at our disposal. But having said that there is no denying the fact that other countries, specially Switzerland, are also equally beautiful. Each Country is unique in its own way. I generally laugh when someone who has never been to Switzerland says "Swiss is a nothing in front of our Himalayas!" Reminds me of the Sarpanch of the film - 'Swades'.
Best wishes to you for your travel, from my side!

Thanks a lot for your kind words! Hard luck on your plan to visit Geneva this year. We have all been hit equally and everyone is sharing the same feeling across the globe. Hope the world heals quickly.

It can't get any better than these set of suggestions. You have literally spoken my heart out. Thorough research, I must say.

I sincerely would like to read a travelogue on your story. If I regret missing one stretch that I ever wanted to do in Switzerland, it would be St. Moritz - Lugano - Milan one. Please share some pictures if you have!

I completely forgot about Mt. Rigi. Thanks for reminding. I had to choose between Rigi and Pilatus and chose the later. Please post some pictures and your story of Rigi and beautiful Engelberg /Mt. Titlis.

The way I was welcomed in Switzerland was not the best one. It was worst as the place I landed has lost a football match and the situation was pretty chaotic and I have experienced water jet that flushed me 50 meters and I had bruises. |
Gosh, that was some unusual experience! Good that it didn't dampen your spirit to explore Swiss.

I got my answer when you mentioned Sherdil and then I remembered your Ladakh episode! Scrolled up to see the team bhp handle and then yes I knew where I had seen you before |
Ha ha!

You really got me. I referred Sherdil in present tense though. 8 years back, he had not yet earned the name for himself! Many thanks for following my travelogues!

BTW, did you guys have a breakdown? If the Polizei caught you stopping on the Motorway (unless an emergency), it would have cost you a bomb. Generally, in Europe it is only allowed to stop in designated places, the Swiss police is also known to strictly enforce rules. Be careful next time. |
Grindelwald is indeed beautiful.
No, we didn't have any breakdowns. We stopped to change over to another driver, as the existing person behind the wheel was little fatigued. We were not fined nor issued any tickets.
