Re: The Rare Pale Tiger from Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve

Hats off to the thread starter. I am in complete awe of the write up and pictures. The whole thing is just nuts to me and i'll need some time to process it.

Also major props for not disclosing minute details and locations. Poachers are a lot smarter than we know and they're the last folks we want to unwittingly keep posted.

Lastly, the picture of the Elephant in Musth - it is INSANELY good.

Very nice, inspiring, stunning set of photos, especially the rare pale tiger. I can imagine the effort you have put in behind each and every artwork. It definitely deserves better recognition. Wishing you more and more recognition, acclaims in national and international arena.

Keep travelling, keep capturing the beauty of mother nature and its creations, keep inspiring us too.

Yes, I spent a couple of hours there on my way back from Nilgiris.

You've got guts to shoot him face to face in that state. How would you handle, in case he charges?
They way he is pointing his trunk appears like, "hey you, you are next"

I was in a vehicle. I am not too comfortable around elephants, when I am on foot. I prefer keeping a very healthy distance.

--------

This tiger got featured again by Indy100/The Independent in year-ending article. See #9.

17 good news stories that proved 2017 wasn't a complete waste of time

And a couple of recent shots. Mere birds, no big cats.

Seems like the tiger had a kill with him. Single horn of a herbivore (perhaps a buffalo !?) can be seen closer to the ground.

Completely in awe of the photography skills you possess Nilanjan. Doff my hat. Absolutely marvellous.
Being a wildlife enthusiast myself, I can well imagine the rigours of wildlife photography. At times It can get frustrating to a limit but the love for nature and wild may well trump the unpredictable.
Look forward to many more threads on wildlife and photography by you.
Happy Shooting!
Cheers
