Another reason for the temple being special is that it has five swayumbu Shiv lingams inside and has some direct reference to the Pandavas.
Already planning for the trip. Have forwarded a proposal to wife. Once approval comes, that is after kids' exam etc, next destination is Nishkalank Mahadev temple:D

Its a nice place to go to. I was there last year. Do stay in Bhavnagar and check out the local Swami Narayan temple as well. Nishkalank Mahadev is about 35-40km from Bhavnagar.

Any info about tide timings. Stambeshwar had all details on its website but people don't know much about Nishkalank Mahadev temple. Had thought of clubbing Alang with the temple visit. Do you think that will be possible? I am not looking at a night stay.

Usually the tide recedes by morning 8-9AM and is back by 3-4PM. We started by about 7:30/8 from Bhavnagar. When we reached it was fully out.
(We just followed this basic guideline)
The guys at the hotel have a good first hand information.
