Prologue:
My mother and her sisters are members of a club run by local Marathi newspaper, called Madhurangan. So this diwali, all of them got a booklet containing discount coupons of various shops/malls/picnic destinations/etc... In this booklet, was a coupon for Prathamesh Farms, which we though to put to use on a weekend. Frankly, if we had not got this coupon, we would never come to know about this place.
Since we had two coupons and the condition was that there should be 1+4 persons with every coupon, we gathered few relatives and decided to visit the place on 9-Jan-2016.

Route:
Prathamesh Farms is only 25 KMs from Chandani Chowk on the NH-4 towards Satara. The place is immediately after the first toll booth at Khed Shivapur on the right hand side.
The moment you leave the toll booth, keep yourself in the right most lane. When you see Hotel Natraj on LHS, take the next median to take a U-turn just after Natraj. Immediately after you take the U-turn and again drive back towards Pune, the road that leads to Prathamesh Farms is on the LHS. You cannot miss the board directing you towards the destination.
Rides:
We needed two rides to accommodate 10 adults and 2 kids. One was going to be S-Cross, by default and the other was decided to be Nano AMT.

Roads and their conditions:
NH-4:
Nothing to write about this road. The road is great throughout, barring a few patches where some work is in progress.
From NH-4 to Prathamesh Farms:
The moment you take a left turn from NH-4 towards the destination, the world changes. It is about 5 KMs from this point on-wards and the road is arduous to say the least. Its a single narrow lane road with some tar still left on it for about 2 KMs and then a no-road for the remaining 3 KMs. You can only drive at 10-20 kmph speeds on this entire stretch. The last 3 Kms are full of dust and you fundamentally drive through crop fields, big farm lands full of Jawar, Bajra, and all sorts of vegetable crop fields. You get that real rural feel driving through these patches. The ride is very bouncy on this 5 kms patch, but if you have an S-Cross, well nothing is too bad.
The S-Cross was just gliding on these torturous patches, with very little jerks felt by the passengers inside. This again goes on to prove how well the ride quality of this beast is. The other set of people in the Nano, however, had a tough time negotiating these extremely rough patches. But, a supremely commendable job by the Nano AMT throughout. The Nano was able to pull itself through this stretch and we did not have a single gotcha moment.
