What lost treasure?

You plan a trip to your dream destination. Great.
You somehow manage your best of pals to company you on this trip. Great.
You manage just about 5 days of leaves. And are hell bent on going by road. Not so good. Not good at all.
The trip happens. Great.
You lose your photos to a hard drive crash. Crap!
You have already formatted the memory cards. Oh dear lord!

Until..

One day you discover a backup tucked away somewhere in your old laptop. Top of the world, again!

So this is what happened with me. Since the journey is already more than a year old, I would not bother with the narration and stuff, but will just share the pictures.

So, with that out of the way, let's start.

We managed to spend an afternoon here. And didn't want to leave. But with very heavy hearts, had to.

Day 6: Khardung La and back - like all other passes there was massive amounts of snow, but thankfully BRO had cleared the roads. After coming down from the K-La, we had lunch and made a dash to Kargil.

Day 7: Kargil - Srinagar
Day 8: Srinagar - Jammu - Delhi

With that the most awaited trip was over.

I hope to return to the paradise soon, and this time, with some extra days in hand to truly unwind and enjoy the place.

Man o Man. I am spell bound with the beauty of the Pangong lake. It looks like nothing else I have seen. No wonder the Himalayas were home to the gods. I have made a promise to himself to visit it. I am out of words and still mesmerized. Great pics by the way.

Snaps from Ladakh always look fresh ... even though we have seen a lot of these landmarks what with so many TeamBHP'ians taking the trip .. or even if the trip was done a year back!!!

Did you do Srinagar-Jammu- Delhi without any break?

I did that last fortnight. Took almost 24 hours. So just curious whether it would take less time during better days (once the roads are restored post floods).
Doing it in a day clearly saves a day for the better part of the trip.

This trip was done last May. From what I remember, we started from Srinagar around 8 AM or so. Reached Jammu around 3-4 PM. After a brief stop at Jammu started for Delhi and reached late night around 2 AM. We had to do it as a few people in the group had flights next day, otherwise I would not recommend Srinagar - Delhi in 1 day.
