I walked across the road to the resort and further to Paravur Lake


Paravur Lake was so vast and beautiful.

We drove towards Monroe Thuruthu via Kottiyam, Kundara and Chittumala. That is the route where you can drive into Monroe Thuruthu.


There is a Technopark here too :)

We reached Monroe Thuruthu by 12:30PM.

I saw a boat by the shore.


To our surprise the boatman was also nearby and we asked if him to take us around. We never spoke about the rates at all. He asked me to park the Civvy in a neighbouring house so that it stays safe. I loved his care for Civvy and considered him to like his boat as much, which indeed he did. We spoke about how to keep the boat for years and methodologies they adopt to keep it strong. It was quite informative.





We started our boat ride into the small canals around Monroe Islands


I was quite surprised to know the river flows all the way from Thenmala to here before it joins Ashtamudi lake and finally the sea!

There are prawns farm around this place, since they had just put the small ones in the ponds we did not go there to see them. We just took some more round along the canals.

We finally came back from the boating trip. It was amazing ride that we've had


I asked the boat man how much he wanted... and he says it's normally Rs500, for your family it's 300..I just did not know what to say.

We then went to Monroe Thuruthu Railway Station

We then went in search of a ferry to take me to the other banks, if I have to trace the route back by Chittumala, it'd take me atleast two hours to reach Karunagapalli. Instead if I take the ferry, I would reach in 10 minutes :)

Once you reach the other bank it is easy to reach Karalimukku and then on easy to reach Karunagapalli.

We waited for the ferry, it was already 14:30 hours
