Good stuff, the enfield is quite a heavy bike to take off road and you guys seemed to do a good job, the slope in one of the pics seems quite steep.

Re: Enfield Off-Roading - Neliyampathy

Umm.. Is the Enfield suited for off roading?. Not sure about its GC, so cant comment. Also, I was of the impression that you needed some nimble and agile, may be two stroke bikes for this?.

Neverthless, great pics!!..

Thanks to all for your comments

Neliyampathy in Kerela needs no introduction to T-BHPians. There are many travelogues in our forum. Especially the travelogue by our master traveler laluks is very interesting and informative

So let me post some more pictures for you !

Re: Enfield Off-Roading - Neliyampathy

Excellent!!!

If you haven't tried yet, try Kunchiyarpathi next time. It was much more challenging and is somewhere close to Nelliampathi (forgot the exact location since I did that circuit some 15 years back)

Re: Enfield Off-Roading - Neliyampathy

This is Awesome , I have a TBTS and have been longing to do this but am looking for company as it's risky to go alone at isolated places and get stuck or stranded for some reason.

The closest i've got to do some off roading was in a jungle area near my house and a fellow nearby warned me against going inside as there was fear of cops catching hold of me if they spotted me coming out.

Just a question - Is it safe going to places that you guys went? Considering that it's all nature and someone can easily accuse you of tresspassing

Here are couple of my off roading pictures on my Bird

Lovely stuff. Thanks for sharing. I done very little off roading kind of trails. But even that little bit was enough to show how capable this bike is.

Re: Enfield Off-Roading - Neliyampathy

Thanks for the info Digital Vampire ! I will check for this place Kunchiyarpathi.

@harishnayak : TBTS performed very well in our Off-Roading. Take your TBTS Off the road and have fun. BTW, for Off-Roading we chose Minnimpara and Govindmala. Minnimpara can be accessed only by a 4-wheel drive and open to public. The route to Govindmala was found with the help of a local. This route was the toughest and accessible only by 4-wheel drive. Later we came to know that sometimes there are wildlife movement along these routes !!!

@bblost : You are right. Enfield is a capable motorcycle for Off-Roading. But we realised that CI engines may not be sufficient for such terrains and Twinspark excels here ! My STD 350 CI Bullet struggled at some terrains whereas TBTS and Electra TS easily took that !
