Bangalore - OOTY TRIP

Hi All,
How are you doing? Well i went on unplanned Ooty trip last weekend. Thought sharing experience with you.

Well as I said it was unplanned trip. Started engine at sharp 0500 IST from Bangalore and crossed Mysore by 0735. I was lucky as there were not much traffic on SH. Then we felt fueling myself with Dosa & Poori sagu but coudn't get any good place till Nanjangudu (Ram lakshman prasad) but food was not good.
There after we started again after breakfast around 9 am. Roads were good till Bandipur. We spotted so many deers/Elephant with tusk bandipur & Mudumalai section. we saw bears also (Couple making love or playing - can't say). I was going around 100 till Mudumali. There were so many speed breaker inside MM stretch.
After Mudumalai .we took Gudalur Road for OOTY. I had first plan to take Masinagudi Road(36 hair pin bends) first, but Some forest officer told us , there is no water in Kalhatti Water fall , so avoided that road.
we almost crossed Gudalur around 12.30. Again Ghati section was good. I was able to accelerate around 80-90 comfortably.
After Gudalur we took break @ PYKARA Boat house 22Kms before OOTY. We went for speed boating.
but unfortunately again there was no water at Pykara waterfall.

After that we crossed Kamraj Dam . The same place where Karan johar has filmed KKHH summer camp bridge & SRK was running on bridge. Joke- I did same thing.

Then we skipped Raja Hindustani shooting place / Tree View(Latest shotting place for Ravan) /Roja Bombay shooting place.

Finally we entered OOTY .. and had Lunch @ Dine Inn near to ooty club.
WE din't like any thing except chicken Biryani.. Food was not up to mark.

One more thing the Ghati section were good. And there were few minor bad patch ,

We spent eve in Botanical garden , Ooty Lake.

Next Day:-

We started at morning 09am and then spent time in Rose Garden. We saw Top View of Derby race & Railway Station.

we crossed check about Kalhatty falls , but every one suggested NOT to go there.

Finally we decided to take Gudalur road only. And then spent some times at
Raja Hindustani shooting place / Tree View(Latest shotting place for Ravan) /Roja Bombay shooting place.

We spotted few animals again in Mudumalai /Bandipur Stretch.

We spent some time in Bridavan/Mysore palace(Lighting time) in Mysore too.

Finally we reached Bangalore at 11. 45 PM .

It was good trip of 700+KMs.

1st Pix:- Kamraj Dam
3rd Pix:- Bandipur road
2nd Pix:- Tree:- where Raja hindustani Has been shooted. (Lip Kiss Scene in Rain )
4th Pix:- Rose garden.

Re: Bangalore - OOTY TRIP

Nice travelogue! Had been to Ooty recently. Haven't made it to this dam in particular. Spotted many elephants by the roadside last time I rode through Bandipur!

Good one da. One of the shortest travelog I read but you have covered the essence of the trip very nicely. Couple of photos of Bridavan/Mysore palace would be welcome.
