Re: Maruti Suzuki Kizashi 2.4 CVT: Test Drive and Review

Get the AC topped up. If the cooling is there, that means the compressor has kicked in. In my case the gas was leaking in a couple of days. My mechanic filled it with compressed gas and checked the pressure. Within 10-15 minutes the pressure dipped drastically, hence the culprit was the coil.
They also checked the AC relay fuses, used foam on cooling hose pipe. During my search for Kizashi cooling coil, I found the whole set up compressor, cooling coil and condensor at Mayapuri for 20k; no guarantee and all though. I knew a friend who had the same issue ... he fixed it in Faridabad as well.
My two cents is call Markanda AC guy. It worked for me. Give my reference (Dr. Gulatee), just got the coil changed 10 days back. Let me know if you need any further clarification.

Thanks again Dr. for your valuable inputs. If my compressor has gone kaput, then I'll definitely have to buy the entire cooling system. I'll probably need your to get in touch with someone at Mayapuri. In the meantime I'll go to Markanda tomorrow itself and get on with it.

Google is showing Markanda under the name "Voltas AC service" with address "19, Tikona Park, Dhobi Ghat, N I T, Near Bus Stand, New Industrial Town, Faridabad, Haryana 121001". Is this correct?

Thanks Doc. Dropped off the car just an hour back. He checked for leakages from the outside but couldn't find anything. So now the only option is the cooling coil. Let's hope it's not the compressor otherwise sourcing it could turn out to be a pain.

Keep me posted. Let me know if you need any kinda help. Remember to bargain with him. I paid 16k. Try to keep it in this ballpark.

P.S - I can't bargain even if my life depends on it..

So I just got a call from Amrik (markanda AC) saying that the cooling coil is absolutely fine with no leakeages whatsoever. Now he is checking on the compressor and other things. Let's see what happens. Doc, can you give me any contact to source the compressor if it turns out to be faulty?

Hey.I just called up Markanda. Amrik told me your car is done. There was a little niggle in the compressor which has been fixed. They want to keep the car overnight just to check the gas levels. The car would be ready tomorrow morning. Hopefully that's the end of it, if not will let you know the mayapuri guys number as well..

Thanks again doc for your help. Any idea how much should be the total cost of the work carried out? He told me the same figure of 16k if the coil needs replacement. But since that's not the case here, I'm wondering how much should I be paying if any further work is not required.

Total expense 100k +. Now i dont know which one is correct. What do you suggest? I'm certainly not spending 1lac + right now. Also can you please tell if there is any way to find out if the compressor is working. Thanks in advance.
My coil is also not working but unless you had a crash or something then everything could have not failed. Why don't you show the car to an ac specialist(not m.a.s.s) ?
The system is losing gas if the coil is damaged thus nothing else will work.

I don't have a clue. Negotiate, see where it leads you. Let me know if it all works out

So I got the car home. Total damage was 6.5k for minor compressor repair, AC service and gas top up. The cooling is there but still not 100%. But even if the cooling stays like this for rest of the summers, I'll be satisfied. Something is better than none. How's your cooling holding up doc?

Re: Maruti Suzuki Kizashi 2.4 CVT: Test Drive and Review

For me with a replacement cooling coil, it works like a charm. However, my car was idling a lot post repair. The problem was that they disconnected the battery as a result, at idle speeds the car was jerky. I got the throttle body sensor cleaned up (spray). Now it's good as new and the AC is also more effective. I advise you to do the same. My mechanic who has handled coil replacement in kizashis advised me. He worked on Kizashis at the Maruti Manesar plant. Give it a shot. The throttle body sensor cleaning coated me 200 rupees. Let me know if that helps

I got my throttle body cleaned in February only at MASS when I gave my car for service. Right now I need to get the alignment done again. Post repair I feel that the alignment has gone out. It could've been out before that also, not sure. Doc, any other problem/expense you've incurred apart from normal service?

Re: Maruti Suzuki Kizashi 2.4 CVT: Test Drive and Review

Nothing so far. Just got my spark plugs changed since I crossed 60k. Had a leaked shocker early this year. I got it changed from MASS itself. The shocker turned out to be a lemon ( perhaps it was lying too long at the Gurgaon factory). MASS took it back. As a result had to get a front shocker made to order at lal khan shocker wala in old Gurgaon. This was recommended by a mechanic at Vipul MASS Gurgaon.

Again had to drop off the car at markanda as the cooling stopped suddenly. He said there is no leakeages whatsoever and the gas is full. Now the only thing left to check again is the compressor which might need replacement. Let's see what happens tomorrow.
