Re: Finally found a cj3b

Nice jeep buddy , more better pics please to justify better.

The seats are changed right from conventional CJ3B seats

Please get rid of that steering wheel and go for a original steering wheel or atleast a mm5x0 steering wheel

Looks like somebody is on 4x4 buying spree, the CJ3B requires a little bit of work but the gypsy is in immaculate condition.

Re: Finally found a cj3b

jeep is at mech's place for quite some time now. i have changed the engine to xd3p and have sourced a 5+1 gearbox. the rear setup is also changed to full floating axles .and have replaced front diff with a straight pipe .these are wider than the stock ones which the jeep had. front bakes are discs and the rear upgraded due to diff setup with bigger drums . i do not intend to turn it in to 4x4 . i already have a mpfi gypsy for those kinda needs. and moreover i donot go offroading much . its primarily going to be used in city only .
i have a question here that do i need to change the crown and pinion from 8.44 to 9 something .
my trustworthy mech says that we will try the stock one (8.44) first and if needed ,then change to 9
.is it advisable to change it right away or better to see the result of stock one.
second is would having the drive shaft and diff in line now will make any difference in terms of vibrations. suggestions are welcome

The crown pinion options you mention are 44/9 (4.88) and 47/11 (4.27). The 4.88 which you currently have is good enough for the Jeep unless you feel the need for a higher top speed and correspondingly lower torque (4.27). Given that you have the 5-speed gearbox anyways, don't see a reason for you to change the ratios.

All the best for the work!
Cheers,
Adi

An Handicapped CJ3B ? Why you did this to a CJ3B ?

Yes, it is moved out now. The 4x4 section is only for 4x4 vehicles.
