Zero Dep is well worth it, whatever be the cost, IMHO.
Please make sure the bumper and skirting are fit back properly. I've gone through this with my Cedia and was not very happy with the refit done at the Authorized workshop. I wasn't sure where else to take it and so just got used to it.

I hope the fog lamps themselves are fine. The OE ones used to cost a bomb (~21k each).

And yes, zero dep is worth it.

I agree the fog lamps are expensive - I was planning to go for them, since my Cedia did not come with them. I was considering getting them from ebay or Alibaba - less than Rs. 5000 for a pair - if I recollect correctly.

But, do the fog lamps improve night driving in any way?

Edit: Mandheer: If you have time, visit CST Road on Kurla and spend some time hunting for fog lamps, bumper etc for Cedia. It is the biggest scrapyard that I am ware of and you can source parts for any car. I am planning to visit there myself, but my Mumbai plans get postponed everytime I make them.

Re: Mitsubishi Cedia Sports- the Red Beast!

The fogs do help in lighting up the two leading edges during high speed runs on dark highways, this helps in avoiding road side debris. However in terms of lighting up the surface ahead no they are not of much help. That comes through only in true blue foggy weather and per my experience in really heavy downpours even during day time.

If you are looking for something to light up the roads ahead, get a pair of original Hella xenons. These are made in Germany about 25mm in dia with black waterproof casing and can light up the road like something that costs 34K should

Re: Mitsubishi Cedia Sports- the Red Beast!

^Well, so, unless the OEM fog lamps really do something great, they are not worth my money. I would prefer the cheap Chinese in case I really want to spend some money.

My Chinese projectors are doing their duty and they seem to be fair for night driving.
In fact, yesterday I drove a Wagon R right out of the showroom and even that did not fare better with oncoming glare. So, there is nothing wrong with my car.

Yes, rains are when there are problems, but I will tackle that after a few months.

SO, how is your health now?

Re: Mitsubishi Cedia Sports- the Red Beast!

Trying to source Cedia clutch plate + pressure plate + release bearing.

Spoke to the local dealer.
He has two options for me (release bearing is not available unless I have a sample).

AISIN clutch plate + pressure plate: Rs. 12K
This looks like good quality based on the website but is more expensive than OEM.

The next option is some OEM like quality (but perhaps a few notches down).
I was told it is some sort of refurbished kind of item but not exactly.
That would cost Rs. 6000.

Will talk to A.S.S. tomorrow if they have stock expected in next one month.

I am making steady progress, thanks for asking.

I am surprised with the back order of clutch plate assembly. Maybe you could import them. Take a look at this page

http://www.amazon.com/2006-Mitsubish...UTF8&carId=002

You may also want to talk to this establishment in Bombay. They are authorized spare parts dealers for HM. I bought spark plug leads from them a couple of years ago, thanks to a rat. None of the A.S.C. in Bom and Del had these in stock but these guys did. That too 'Made in Japan' wala.

Good to hear that.

Problem is the import costs.

The cheapest option I have from Amazon is this one:
http://www.amazon.com/EXEDY-MBK1008-...1&s=automotive

However it has a negative review. The total cost for me will be Rs. 9500 (including customs, shipping and taxes). This is for an item which is availabe for Rs. 5500 after applying a discount coupon.

All other products are even more expensive - so total cost will be more than what I can locally source from here.

I had asked Mars India and their rates were almost the same as the A.S.S. - infact a little higher.

With A.S.S. I think I will get 6 months warranty - so that is a better option I guess.

Why so much of a circus?
Is Cedia not supported by HM/Mitsu India anymore?

Supply of spares has been an issue - since 2 years.
The service center blames the Chennai office.

So, I do not rely on the service center for anything. If they do have something it will be expensive.

E.g. Clock spring: Cost Rs. 13500 (may take 1 month to deliver). I imported it from UAE for Rs. 8000 and got it installed at A>S>S.

E.g. Rear shocker: Cost Rs. 10500 (not in stock). I got OEM from Mars India for around Rs. 5000.

Re: Mitsubishi Cedia Sports- the Red Beast!

That's bad.
I don't understand why Mitsu is sticking around with HM.
Have you tried escalating it to Mitsu at all? Or they just don't care?

Re: Mitsubishi Cedia Sports- the Red Beast!

I am posting this link here (unknown to the owner) as I know Rishi personally and am aware of the care he lavishes on his vehicles. So if anyone in your circle is looking out for a Cedia this example is the best that may be out there at this time. BTW this is not his first Mitsubishi and he has owned a Lancer Invecs previously and has an Outlander in his garage in addition to various others.

http://classifieds.team-bhp.com/buy-...hi/Cedia.html/

Request that all comments on pricing etc may not be posted here but be taken up directly with with Rishi, who by the way has stated his position on this very clearly.

Re: Mitsubishi Cedia Sports- the Red Beast!

Can any Cedia owner please tell me what does this green symbol in the dashboard mean? This light stays on for a while and then suddenly disappears.

Does it have a engine temp guage?
If not this looks like engine temperature indication to me.
