Hi friends !

On dec, 22 2010 I got myself a new Punto Multijet 1.3 Active. A detailed Initial report will follow soon, but before that I would like to share my delivery experience.

Hi Friends !

On Dec 22 2010, I got myself a Punto Diesel 1.3. Initially I was looking at a MUV/SUV saying a TATA Sumo Grande or SAFARI, my primary choice being a Grande. As i entered the TATA showroom here at dehradun, there it was a exotica red Punto parked out there. Just a single look at it and i knew that i wanted this car. Asked the Executive for a detailed test drive and the guy registered my details and came the next morning for a 20km test drive. I took the punto out to some open roads and some crowded streets, just to make sure of the ride quality and I must say that even a badly maintained 6600kms run test drive vehicle was as awesome as my new one.

Decided then and there that i will be getting this one for me. Enquired at the showroom and luckily they had it in stock. Went to the dealer on 21st dec and gave out a booking amount. They called me the next morning for a PDI and delivery.

Went to the showroom on 22nd morning and did a quick PDI. I must say that the delivery executive was pissed at me for doing a PDI. He had flames in his eyes when i told them some problems with the model they were offering me. The problems being a broken rear interior side panel, a faulty seat belt, a mismatched door handle and some scratches and a non working front door sensor. This executive wanted me to accept that piece and told me that he will get all the problems fixed and will get me 10K discount as well.

After a long discussion they came out with another one from their stockyard which was perfect. So took the delivery and came home.

Initial results
It's an Awesome car with a great road presence that turns heads. While talking about performance, I am satisfied with an awesome output when i need it. People do say that punto is a bit sluggish at the pick up stage, but i hardly noticed it.

a more detailed explanation of a month full of rides including a 250km highway jumble will follow soon.

Drive carefully during the run-in period and change the engine oil after 1k or 2k kms.

All the best.

Maintain the RPM in run in period. Drive safe. Wish you many happy miles! :)

Congratulations on the car! Please note that Team-BHP does not permit booking / buying experience threads in the Test-Drives section anymore. For the benefit of members & guests alike, it is now imperative to include a complete report on the car (the driving experience / comfort / features, what you like, what you don't like etc.).

This thread is temporarily closed. Please PM me or report this post once you are ready to update with a complete driving report; that's when it shall be re-opened. Thanks for your support.
