Thanks for the pics, Sivadas. Its very conservatively styled, yet manages to look good. However, it looks very small !!! Too small for 7 lakhs plus, though just right at the price for the 1.4 litre petrol.

Whats with the Zxi on the side and TDCi on the boot?

The color looks good.
BTW, why do people still have the seat covers (plastic transparent ones). I have seen it for more than 1 year in a colleague's car. Is it a indian trait. I am asking this because in USA, a friend of mine had his plastic wrap on the handle of his tennis racquet for a long long time.

Haa haaa haaa... the innocence of your question really had me in splits! Where are you from mate?

Welll... I do not know about this being an indian trait but people here definitely do not take out the covers the day they buy the car. At least most do not. Mostly within a month or so they get the accessories fitted. That is when the plastic covers go out and proper seat covers are put on. If you look at the car it does not seems like having gone to the accessory shop yet (there are no sun-films either).

I have recently booked a red (not flare) Fiesta (1.4), and boy are they giving me a headache with the colour. Surprisingly Ford is not responding to my queries as to if that colour is avaliable or not. Very dissapointed with the service.
Wifey is so angry that she wants to cancel the booking. (cus i had promised to gift it to her on our anniv and it dosent appear that its possible now).

WOW! Fiesta looks gorgeous in that orange color. The car seems really well built and it does have a upmarket feel about it. Interiors seem pretty rich too. Sizewise, it seems perfect for driving in Indian cities. This one should do well if people can come out of the percieved "ford cars are low on fuel efficiency and high on maintainence" attitude that God knows how is ingrained into their heads.

Met the dealer yesterday, he told me that for those people who choose the Silver or Black colour in the Fiesta 1.4 there is an additional pack of 23 K which they need to purchase (compulsory), they call this some value added crap. The pack contains music system(again the make of the system and the speakers is not known), door mats, mud flaps, anti theft system, read boot lid in chrome and an antenna. Wonder why they have this deal on the Silver and Black models, is it because there is a hugh demand for these models. I am glad I chose the red one.

Does the dealers offer any discount? I checked with MPL Ford in Chennai and was told for corporates they offer 5K discount on accessories or on extended warranty. Not even single paise above this. Need to check with other dealer Chennai Ford. Zeored in on Ford Fiesta 1.4 petrol, color - Red ( Not mine)

@kashd - I think the FE for 1.4 would be close to 12 in city (dealer claims 14) and 18 on the high ways. They have some amazing figures for the disel but the ones which I have mentioned seem to be more realistic.

@Surprise : No discounts yet, and the prices of the Fiesta have risen by 15K, in Pune atleast (source TOI) vbmenu_register("postmenu_162229", true);

Too early in the day for discounts and yes, they had initially advertised as " special introductory price" so the price hike was expected; around 10k is what its expected to go up by in delhi I'm told, effective 15th. Have Pune prices increased already?

Well I got a call from the bank guys informing me about the prices but I had already spoken to the dealer and he had assured me that I wont be affected. I am not sure if its immediate, got to check with my dealer.

I have finalised on 1.6 zxi delight version instead of tdci. Cost 7.68L. Plus pioneer 2din mp3 comes along with extra 4K. The delight version is almost same as sxi and may be even a shade better with rear spoiler. My colour is Jewel violet which looks good on road than on pics.
