Fantastic review there! Good comparison of the 800 alto Vs K10 alto.

By the teambhp review mentions that the gear shift is not that good. Zigwheels mentions it is improved. These magazines write anything if they are paid.

Do keep these reviews coming.

A five star rating for the review

Granted the i10's handling is nothing to write home about, but so is the Alto's, on stock tires. It rolls & understeers quite a bit when pushed, you'd need much stiffer dampers & wider tires to make the Alto handle well.

Finally a neat design after long wait from Maruti. Has enough fire power too..! What more can you ask if you are looking for a car in this budget.

The first impact will definitely be on the sale of other lower B segment cars. There would be a lot of lto to Alto K10 upgrades resulting in flurry of Altos in the preowned car sector.

The front overhang is reminiscent of the erstwhile Zen.

Maruti had enough engine options nd hence the retrofit model. This is only for India duty as this Alto is discontinued elsewhere by Suzuki.

I am totally impressed with the car when I saw it today, but the tyre profile failed to impress. Now if I buy it it has to be with a tyre upgrade with Alloy, so can the Gurus tell me what size and profile will be best for this version of Alto?

Thanks TheMag for the great review!

Wow . This is just what the Alto needed .
Fun to drive . Cheap to buy and own .No significant loss of power with the AC on .

ABS and Airbags could and should have been offered as optional extras . They can save lives.

The new lights especially the rear ones are ugly . Front are okay , just about .

As already mentioned by many, the ZEN is back !

Will tyre upgrade void any warranty?

No, when I got my Alto in 2007, dealer offered me a tyre upgrade with alloys, I didn't take it.

For ~3lacs price, its a fantastic machine and its got great power to weight ratio - almost equivalent to swift and yet very efficient.
I think the waiting period will be in range of 3 to 6 months if we book in this week

@asdon
165/60-13 or 175/60-13 should be a better option compared to stock one.

This post is not going to be well-received here.
I see people going ga-ga over the new Alto..no doubt it is better than the older one but not certainly to go ecstatic about.

Coming to the new engine, isn't this the same engine which was claimed as unrefined and worst in driveability by the people here (including GTO, refer to the Micra test drive thread)? Now calling it a pocket rocket and what not seems totally contradicotry!

When I mentioned in several threads about 0-100 times of different cars, people bashed me saying that those times do not matter. Now I see people dancing with joy over the 13.5 secs time of the Alto..what an irony??

May be I am missing something

Anyway, I welcome this step from Maruti but nothing to be over-ecstatic!

Imagine, if budget is 4-4.5 lakhs, one can buy Alto K10, and add all kinds of accessories, perform mods/tuning and have a really really hot hatch in hand! slurp slurp! The thought of it makes me drool!
