By the way how long does the under body paint last? would this need to be repeated after a couple of years?
I think the 3M one has a 5 year warranty and you can get a touch up or coat done up after every 6 months or so.

Re: Ford Figo 1.2 Petrol - ownership report

Sorry, Could not find a better thread so bumping up an old one.
I also have a 1.2 ZXI Figo which has done about 19000+ kms on the odo. I have been servicing this car regularly and do not use it extensively.
Recently, I had to switch off the car audio and roll up all windows and put on the ac as I was carrying someone I hardly knew from work to some other place. I just realised how noisy my car cabin has become. Little rattles, creaks, noise in general from many places - some of them appeared to be from within the cabin - seats, door etc, and some of them seems to come from outside - suspension area etc. I am due for service soon and will bring this up.
Just wanted to know if there are any petrol users out there - is this normal? I always had the radio (atleast) on so never heard these noises before - it surprised me. Some noise is understandable due to several moving parts etc but what I heard that day was too much. My friends almost 10 yrs old baleno had less cabin noise.
Also the knocking sound that comes from somewhere in the rear left hand suspension/tyre area is irritating. Nothing seems to be wrong from visually checking.
Any idea/advise/comments/suggestions?

Re: Ford Figo 1.2 Petrol - ownership report

Hello Everyone! My first post as a Team BHP member. Looking forward to learning a lot from members here!

I own a 2012 Figo Exi (O) petrol and have two/three instances in the past 4 months where the engine switches off while driving. It first happened when I was making a sharp turn (which could be associated to the power steering pump). The second time, the engine turned off when I was slowing down using engine break at about 25kph.

Any other members encountered something similar? Off the top of my head, maybe excess carbon in the throttle body could be to blame.

Had happened to me twice, but some time in past. It happened in very low speed situation.... Another user(i guess tharian) has also reported this.

Yes, it happened to me thrice, but I didn't do anything about it and it has been easily over a year since I last experienced it.
Don't think it is a serious issue unless it very frequent.

Yeah I figured. Although I am quite surprised that Ford didn't do anything about it. I'm sure there would have been complaints.

We had a family member who while coming down the tirupati that road also had the same issue. I can't imagine the shock of realising the engine is off while coming down that dangerous road.

Re: Ford Figo 1.2 Petrol - ownership report

Hello all!

I was hoping to get your opinions and experiences (if any) on something intriguing.

It's been raining like mad here in Chennai for the past couple of days. Obviously there are lakes on the roads. Yesterday as I was driving through these at moderate speed I notice water POURING into the driver and front passenger wheel wells!

It's coming in through the wheel well panel:

As you can see, both the wheel wells have quite a bit of water in them.

Same area on the driver's footwell panel letting water in:

If anyone has experienced something similar, please do share. I think the water is coming in though the splash guard in the wheel well outside and between the body.

Seems like Ford has had some quality issues on the line?

Is this problem associated with old Figoes only, or the new ones also suffering the same way? A very dangerous situation, if happens at high speed, I think.

If the water is seeping in through the gap between the door and the body, check the rubber beading and its fitment.

Also please check if there are any holes on the body, under the carpet and on the wheel well panel.
