The stint with this Punto doesnt seem to end. For some reason, the Punto is not getting off my hand. I feel sorry for Sujith.
On a suddenly decided last moment trip, I took Sujith's Punto to Cochin. Wow! My real first drive in the Punto for such a long distance. The overall drive felt sexy. I really have no words to describe. The Punto is so much more luxurious and refined. It did not tire me at all and I felt I had driven like say just 200 kms. Such was the comfort. I drove in the night and reached Cochin in 8 hours flat.
Here are some of the pictures I managed to take in this trip.
EDIT: At a couple of stretches, I almost hit top speeds of 180 KMPH. My fastest till date.
Thanks for the update funkykar. How refined is the engine now? Heard MJDs open up after few thousands of kms?! And what was the avg mileage?
You also have a Palio right?
Yes right. Now that the Punto has crossed 10k kms, the engine is butter smooth!
Enjoy the pics!:)
Congrats Sujith!! Your car looks stunning in white. Happy driving!!
I along with the other FCB founders are planning to go Doddaballapur on some personal work. We may be going to the grasslands again for some exotic videos. Punto/Audi/118NE, any 2 out of the cars will be going there exclusively for the video shoot. Time to kick some dust.
As part of FCB's second anniversary celebrations, we drove to Ananthpur on Bangy - Hyderabad highway. Here are some pic. Enjoy!:)
FIAT Grande Punto Emotion 1.3 MJD
54,000 kms review: :rules:
I am writing a review of the Punto owned by Sujith1100 - the Founder of FIAT 1100 Club Bangalore and a well known Traffic Warden. This FIAT was initially owned by him and later I started using it as Sujith was away for career reasons.
Looks:
Needless to say, its a timeless beauty. Look best from side and cute from front. The front looks low and add to the low ground clearance. The engine guard plate got bent several ties but thanks to it the mechanicals were safe.
Handling:
The Punto just eats up the potholes. Generally my aged mom sits at the back and she has been pretty happy with the comfort.
High speed stability and confident cornering is the USP of FIATs. Though I would say the Palio was a notch better than the Punto, Punto still feels great and like no other.
Have taken the Punto for all kinds of rallies and it performed pretty well!
Mileage:
I get around 16kmpl in Bangy city conditions and not that great mileage on highways cos of my heavy foot!
A.S.S:
KHT Motors has been kind enough to give me good service thanks to Team-Bhp and FCB stickers flooded on my Punto. Never had a accident or mechanical failure so not sure about parts availability. But I am sure the parts availability is not like our good and faithful Maruti or Hyundai.
I hope FIAT goes single in A.S.S someday.
Niggles:
My Punto initially had some fittings, not major, of Emotion Pack! During first service it was rectified. There were some loose wires hanging near the seat etc.
Plastics near the front wiper is not good. Tends to fade a bit.
Enjoy some random old and new pics from Facebook FCB and Team-Bhp.
Time for 60,000 kms update! It happened recently on a drive to Yelagiri in TN. Lets the pics narrate my Love, love story!;)
We are all endangered species!
We, devotees of speed, the noise, the performance.
We, lovers of Speed.
There is hardly any space for us in the city.. So....
The CHAMPION, is everywhere. You and I are pushed aside in every hairPin bend.
The cars that challenge conventions..
Push the laws of physics, and drive our powerful, beautiful machines..Hard..
It's all about the communal celebration of Horsepower, Torque.
WHEN DREAMS ARE DRIVEN!:thumbs up

@Karthik1100: Beautiful pics. So true about the endangered species. I will join the species too.:D
Everytime I see a punto pass around me, I always know that the guy owning it has something special inside him and is not just another guy driving a car.
Wonderful pics!! FIATs have always been soulful cars. BTW, the Punto with racing strips has really well done bumper. I liked the black painting/vinyl on the bottom of the bumper.
Karthik - Beautiful pictures of the FIATs and the endangered species :D
Who owns that S10? Do you have more pictures of the car?
Wow Sujith! Excellent pics of the drive. Donno whats wrong with the engine, I got an astonishing 23.7 kmpl on my drive to Pune. I just came back home 1 hour ago. Your Punto had its first puncture. Its also time you change the tires. I guess it will not last more than 7-10k kms.
Your odo now reads 62356. Hope to hit 65000 soon. I am taking it on a south India trip tomorrow to celebrate the holidays until November 2nd.
EDIT: Karthik1100 released a video featuring Sujith's Punto and my Palio. Here it is:
